I had the best time of my life at the hostel! It was my first volunteer and I felt like home! Since the first day I was really welcomed by all the staff and guests! The place has an amazing vibe, where you're able to meet people from all over the world and also the locals! Also you have many days off, so you can explore many activities around the area! I already miss my time there and I can't wait to go back and visit everybody! And I want to thanks Lieze for always taking care of me! I definitely recommend this incredible experience!

I had the best time in the hostel. I worked with great staff and other volunteers and since it wasn't season yet, we had a lot of time to go out and explore. Definitely would recommend it. Everyone was so awesome and it felt like a family.

This is definitely a one of a kind experience. Lieze is very clear about her needs and the staff is helpful when orienting new volunteers. Lieze was helpful and very communicative so ask questions and don't be afraid to try something new. For me it was pool, for others it was the nature activities that the hostel has to offer. From the beach to the trails to the caves.

I really enjoyed my time at the hostel. The staff is super friendly and makes you feel welcome! :) You can experience a lot of nice things and go for adventures around the Area . Also the work wasn't that hard mostly because it was off season. Tiny adjustments could be made with the food situation, but overall it was amazing and I am really looking forward to come back:)

I'm forever grateful for my time at the hostel. the hostel is a dream with beautiful beaches, never ending mountains, Pepsi pools, rivers, waterfalls and the most welcoming people. I already felt like part of the community after a couple weeks. Lieze always listens to concerns and makes an effort to address them.The work hours are long and feel longer on quiet days. The work itself is easy and fun once you adapt. My experience was soured by the male permanent staff, all of who had no boundaries and constantly sexualized me. Thank you to Geraldine and Wellonique for being the sweetest. <3

The hostel is an amazing place and the people are extremely welcoming. The work is not easy and the hours are definitely long; it's manageable but be aware you'll be expected to work hard and often with no breaks. the hostel is a hang out spot for the town so it can get really busy, great if you're having a day off but exhausting if you're working. The male staff made me and other girls very uncomfortable multiple times; the female staff is great. The food is very simple and the same every single day. Overall, if you're adventurous and enjoy nature, BH will meet your expectations

The hostel South Africa is the most beautiful and magical place on this side of the planet! I was blessed with the opportunity to integrate into the culture here, I plan on coming back for years to come and you'll meet many people that say the same. However I will not be volunteering here again. Upon applying you will be asked to sign a contract, PLEASE read it closely. I think for me the hours were a bit much to handle especially during season. Its a very busy establishment during summer and you'll be working nearly full time hours as a volunteer. Less hours in this time would've been better

Thank you for your feedback. You are also missed.. Yes season can be quite hectic for all of us :-) I am sorry that you felt you worked too much , however, not one volunteer worked more hours than what was agreed upon and many days when we closed earlier, you would finish earlier (30MIN - 1HR).. but I do understand that it felt like a lot because it was non stop. We do appreciate all our volunteers. If I failed you, I am sorry, it was unintentional.

The hostel is such a special and magical place, I will definitely come back, but I won't be volunteering here again in the future. The employees at the hostel/the hostel are amazing, very nice, welcoming and freindly. During my stay I made the most beautiful friendships with travellers, previous volunteers and locals. For me the amount of hours you're working and the task were a lot, the volunteers are held to the same standard and responsibility as the permanent employees, which in some cases are completely understandable, but in others a bit unfair as you are there as a volunteer.

Beachhouse was generally a great place to work. Lieze tries to give the volunteers a good experience; she'll help coordinate activities, adjust work schedules, and give you rides places when she's available. She can become easily stressed out on busy beachhouse nights, but if you ensure you're helping out as agreed and don't let the job stress you out, you'll do just fine. The biggest challenge here was the behavior of several of the full time employees here. There were inappropriate comments and gestures made towards the girls. After discussing with Lieze, things got better except one guy

My experience at the hostel was truly amazing. I already miss this place ! The location, the people, the activities, everything was nice. Lieze is a very nice person, she always took good care of me and helped me when I needed, for example driving me to some places. She really tries her best to make your experience as a volunteer as good as possible. She always respected the work hours. Overall the staff is very nice, I had some good laughs with them and I enjoyed working with them. It did happen that they made volunteers girls feel uncomfortable and I hope it won't happen again.
