I had the absolute best first time experience as a volunteer here, this place is full of amazing people making it feel like a big family taking care of each other, the tasks are very flexible and you mostly help what is needed and what your own skills are. I got a comfortable room there to stay in and they had the most amazing restaurant ever there too where you could easily get a snack or dinner. I have only love and good things for this place and would love to come back one day

I've been in My Way for almost 2 months, it was my first volounteering experience and i felt part of a family since day 1. It's a great place to grow and learn new sports or new activities. I've been here during low season, so there was a lot of freedom about the things that you could during shift, having the possibility to express yourself also with diy, painting, restoring skateboards ecc I for Sure reccomend this place, i had the opportunity to meet a lot of special people and i left a piece of my heart here :)

Mi estadia en el anfitrión fue llena de diversion , siempre hay algo que hacer o aprender , aunque no quize hacer mucho kite , mejore mi surf y aprendi a andar de skate , no es solo un equipo el que trabaja alli , sino que tambien la gente del restaurante es miembro de este equipo y conviven diariamente , te sentiras dentro de una pelicula y si quieres ayudar hay mucha flexibilidad y orden desde mi estadia todo a mejorado y seguira asi ! I had almost two months of one of my best experiences traveling. I met volunteers, employees, guests and customers who became friends. Karaoke and Kebab nights, learning a new language, boat trips, cooking together, card games, surfing despite the cold and having fun. Although having had a lot of work every day by not having many volunteers in the low season, it was still possible to enjoy Aveiro and I'm very grateful to have been part of the host family, I will definitely be back soon.

It was a very nice experience, even if unfortunately I had to stop it before the deadline. The team is fantastic, I immediately felt like I was in the family, I heartily recommend it

I had no expectations when decided to go to the host but it really got me! I felt really welcome by the people there and had a lot of fun during my stay: Karaoke nights, playing la bamba around the bonfire, skating around... it was really nice! the place itself is a bit far from everything but you will be able to borrow bikes, skates or maybe even the car to go shopping or visiting the places you want. you also get a good coffee and a nice bread everyday. Laura is a lovely person that will be looking after you making sure you have all you need 🫶 thanks for everything guys!!

My time in the host was awesome! You feel part of the family the moment you arrive, Laura and mathias were such AMAZING host! They give you a lot of authonomy and trust, you have flexibility to choose your tasks and schedules (as long as you communicate of course), they give space for clear dialogue and they truly hear you and try their best to make you feel comfortable and safe. You have full access to everything the kitesurf the host provides, you have discount in the bar/restaurant and the vibes are totally incredible. I couldnt have had a better time. Seriously. Gonna miss everyone tremendously

My way fue una buena experiencia en general, tuve oportunidad de conocer personas increíbles y generar amistades muy lindas, practiqué deportes y actividades como así también conocí más de Portugal y sus alrededores, el único inconveniente fue el esquema de horarios de los voluntarios dado que no era muy claro y a veces pretendían que demos más de lo acordado, pero todo se podía conversar y arreglar. Para un futuro mejoraría la organización y la claridad.

Overall, it was a great experience. Stephy is great and, as an experienced traveler herself, knows how to welcome and treat the volunteers! I got the opportunity to learn some kite surfing and experience what coastal life in Portugal is like. I got close to my fellow volunteers and coworkers and felt my saudade before I even left. However, communication is an issue and one must be ready to always ask and communicate their needs. Other than that, you get what you put into it (like every experience) and Aveiro and its greater region will forever and always leave a special place in my heart.
