The hostel is not the best choice if you're looking to meet international travelers. The atmosphere is very local, quiet, and mostly elderly guests, which sometimes leads to awkward situations. Hours and tasks (basically cleaning and check-ins/outs) are respected. However, you are essentially responsible for everything that happens during your shift since the manager is rarely around. Also, the volunteer room has no natural light, not even a window. The beach is 20 mins away walking.

Tive uma ótima experiência no hostel! O hostel é bem localizado, e o transporte público facilita muito. O quarto dos voluntários é bom, só faltou uma janela para ventilação pois é bem úmido. Os banheiros são compartilhados com hóspedes e têm um padrão de limpeza diferente do Brasil, mas são bem gerenciados. O trabalho é tranquilo: recepção, limpeza, camas e sistema. Os staffs ajudaram em tudo, criamos um ambiente de amizade que jamais esquecerei, aproveitamos muito juntos! Alguns desafios com hóspedes, mas a equipe lidou bem. Experiência incrível 🫶

Foi meu primeiro voluntário na the hostel e como primeira experiência achei muito boa. A relação entre as pessoas da equipa, o local e as tarefas que desempenhei como voluntária foram muito legal. Destaco a abertura à comunicação de quem está na the hostel. Além do empenho e respeito pelas tarefas que tivemos como voluntários, também me diverti muito e valorizo ​​isso. Hasta pronto. My stay in the hostel was a great experience. I could speak English with guests and meet people from different nationalities. If you like beaches that's a great opportunity to live nearby. I could enjoy the beach in my free time. The tasks are very well distributed among volunteers and the work hours are respected. There is a nice garden inside the hostel where you can take care of plants and grow vegetables. I'm very glad with this experience and I truly recommend it.

I greatly enjoyed the experience thanks to the team I worked with. Collaborating with dedicated and kind people made each task more manageable and rewarding. We learned a lot from each other, and the work environment was always positive and supportive. Additionally, spending time and sharing experiences with such diverse people allowed me to make friends and grow personally.

My experience at the hostel was beautiful, the team was so open and nice that after 1 day I already felt home :) They were all chilled, easy-going and fun to be with, and the tasks were clear and simple to do. I highly recommend going there! I miss them already

It was my first experience as a volunteer and I felt very good working with the hostel team, they are all friendly and companions. I was able to make friends from different countries, learn more portuguese and practice my english. It is a great experience!

Isso nao e voluntario, apenas um trabalho escravo moder. Exatamente assim que voce é visto. A gerente coloca as tarefas pesadas para os novos e tem alguns favoritos, tira foto de coisas bobas e envia para o proprietario afim de gerar entriga e ganhar "reconhecimento". Os quartos dos voluntarios é imundo e os horarios nao e flexivel diferente do que tinhamos combinado. A pior experiencia que ja vi como voluntario. Sei falar 4 idiomas e fui colocado apenas para faxinar tudo, veem o voluntario como uma forma de economizar em uma faxineira. Os guests me amavam sem excessão.

I unfortunately did not have a good match with the hostel. I had underestimated my routine and had too much on my plate to commit to my volunteer duties at the hostel. The hostel is homey and cute. The staff were friendly and helpful. I was the only -non-Portuguese speaking volunteer, which left me out a bit - but they were welcoming and kind. The sleeping area is a windowless room that doesn't feel welcoming. The hostel owner was a kind and can-do man who was forgiving of my lack of ability to commit to my duties. I had to cut the time short and wish them all the best.
