Awesome experience, and definitely improved my Spanish! Made a lot of connections with the kids and got to teach topics that interest me. Check how many other volunteers will be there -- fewer than ~6 then you have to go in every day and may go over your 20 hours per week. It fluctuated while I was there. Also, sometimes we were asked to join spontaneous meetings or food drives -- if they go over your weekly hours, just tell Rosemery (the host) she's super sweet and accommodating! I wouldn't worry about my Spanish level too much, as long as you have some basics and are willing to learn!

My time at the project was valuable&meaningful to me! The work at school&the food distribution experience gave me the chance to get in touch with realities &vulnerability of the local community. This is what I was looking for: reality. The kids were warm-hearted, welcoming&open to the volunteers. I found there could have been more structure&orientation for the teaching job of the volunteers. However, I was specially moved&grateful for Rosmerys openness&receptiveness for my thoughts&ideas!!! I feel like I could have an impact&I'm grateful for having been allowed to contribute! Thanks to all!!! :)

If you are looking for a life-changing experience, the project is for you! Be prepared that the area of the school is really poor, so you will experience different standards during your stay. The kids at school are comfortable being around volunteers, they show a lot of affection. Learning about their lives made me understand how much they need the community of the project.

Definitely my favorite volunteer so far the environment in the house of volunteers and in the school was great, you also need to be very flexible with classes but it's all worth it, the kids are amazing and they will welcome you with open arms, love to come back in some years

El proyeto no es sólo una Ong, si no que es un hogar para todos y todas las voluntarias que vienen de todo el mundo, y sobre todo para todos los niños y niñas locales y sus familias. El trabajo y acompañamiento que se hace tiene el objetivo de que los y las niñas, junto sus familias, tengan un futuro. Existe un compromiso real. Además, te dan la libertad para llevar a acabo tus propios proyectos, siempre en la línea de la Escuela. Tanto la coordinadora y la trabajadora social, como Rosmery y Américo, buscan en todo momento que te sientas a gusto, como en casa.

El proyeto és un proyecto maravilloso, serio y encantador. La Sra. Rosemery y el Sr. Americo son personas muy activas en la comunidad. Ellos son muy carismáticos, cariñosos y muy trabajadores. Prestan mucha atención a los voluntarios, haciéndo nos sentir muy bien. El trabajo se foe bien, manana y tarde com ayuda en las tareas, algunas clases que preparamos em parejas con buenissimos colegas voluntarios. Es una experiencia unica y rica. Me gusto danzas peruana, la comida y hospitalidade de Peru. Gracias de coracon a todas as personas que conoci. "Amistad, tolerancia y carino" Abracos🙏💖😘

This experience was absolutely amazing and I wouldn't change it for the world. I learned so much from the kids, the locals, and the other volunteers. I felt loved by the kids in a magical way, and Rosmery was absolutely amazing. You can feel the love these people put into the project, it's a project done with the heart and you can really tell. It's so amazing how you fall in love so deeply with the project you just wanna keep helping even after your stay is over. Most of the volunteers stay longer than they originally planned because the experience is that awesome.
