Such a lovely place! The hostages are a beautiful family, so kind and warm. They make a delicious Sri Lankan food every day. Also, they are always willing to help and provide you with information to make tours, passes, get to know the city and surroundings. The experience was wonderful, the school, the kids, the teachers. So much love in that place. Just for the traveler information, there is no WiFi. If you are considering spend a couple of weeks there, it is good have a good internet plan.

I am so thankful that I found Kandy the school to do my volunteer. The experience was amazing and Nisa and her family were very welcoming, I felt right at home and I couldn't be happier that I got to spend time with them! The classes with the children were very fun but also engaging and the vibe with the other teachers and volunteers was very nice. This experience made my trip an unforgettable one ♥️ miss all of them so much!

My volunteer experience has been wonderful!! The kids are adorable and the teachers are very passionate and nice. I've loved every second of the teaching experience. You'll have plenty of time to explore Kandy and the surroundings after school/weekends. To be living with Nisa and her family has been lovely!! They made me feel like a part of the family from day one. So welcoming, friendly, helpful and funny. Also, I'm already missing all the delicous food they made. I'm super grateful for this experience 🫶🏼 My only regret is not staying longer than a week.

The stay was really lovely!! The host family really accepts volunteers as part of their family and you get to know a lot about sri lankan culture. The always help you with everything and make you feel so welcomed! The only think to critise is that you also have to work on saturdays, which is not mentioned on Worldpackers.

I had an amazing time with Nissa and her family. They were very nice and welcoming and we had lots of fun together. Teaching at the school was an incredible experience and I loved all the kids!! Will definitely be back❤️

My volunteering experience here was really special! From when I arrived I was welcomed like family and felt at home. The work at the school was enjoyable and the hours were reasonable, with lots of free time to explore kandy in the afternoons. Nisa went above and beyond to help me plan day trips on my Sunday day off; she helped me organise transport and made sure I made the most out of my time in Sri Lanka, including visits to tea factories, temples, city centre and cafe recommendations. This was my first worldpackers experience and I would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone

From the moment I arrived, Nisa and her family made me feel completely at home—like a true member of their family. Every moment spent with them was filled with joy, from fun-filled afternoons and late-night card games to our cooking sessions and even the special birthday I celebrated with them. Saying goodbye was definitely hard, but they'll always have a special place in my heart. The teaching experience itself was just as incredible. The kids were so sweet, curious, and full of energy—it was a joy to spend time with them every day. I will be forever grateful for this experience❤️

Nisa and her family were excellent hosts, so welcoming as soon as I got there and throughout the whole experience were making sure I was settled and had things to do. The teaching itself was such a great experience and in my spare time I had chances to visit lots of different places and things nearby. I couldn't recommend it enough, such a great experience!

It was an incredible experience, Nisa and her family are so welcoming you will feel at home. The kids at the school are really cute, the teachers are so nice and funny. It is the best place if you want to spend time with kids and immerse yourself in the local culture.
