L'Esperienza

The main tasks include bathing, walking, socialising and helping feed dogs, if needed helping with cleaning and cooking. Help us to take photos and videos for social media. If you have experience in wound dressings and therapy for disabled dogs help would be appreciated. We welcome people with all different types of skills such as social media and building experience as well. Currently we have 157 dogs.

Overall I really enjoyed my time here. We were helping out over nye and seeing how scared the dogs got was painful. But at the same time you get to bond closely with the dogs and can really help. We were mainly tasked to take care of the puppies and clean dog cages in the front area. The dogs are really lovely!! You can really tell that Tamara & Sarah really care about the dogs Communication could be better at times. Even though the location is a bit more outside you can usually order groceries/food via grab. You'll also find a nearby 7/11, Makro.

We had a really good experience socializing with the animals. We fell in love with quite a few which made it hard to say goodbye. It's a goodbye for now but we might be back in the future. Also there is a lovely cat named Jessi who really likes to cuddle.

Honestly the best world packers experience I've had. Would highly recommend this shelter! Come meet all the dogs and the host Tamara is a crazy dog lady who puts them before herself always. These dogs are living a life of luxury compared to other shelters I've stayed at and the work Tamara does for sterilising and vaccinating dogs is amazing. I felt very included and spent most of the day socialising the dogs and walking a few of them. Socialising can involve simply sitting with the shyer dogs or playing and running around with the more energetic dogs. I felt included and loved my time here!!!

A project like this where you don't have to pay an extra fee is appreciated having at least a space, they are the ones who need help but the animals helped me, time went by really fast there is a lot of love to give in that place and they make sure they are well, the staff was super friendly, for those who like animals and helping it is a good place, the tasks are really simple, you have a kitchen where you can prepare your food and although it is a little far from the center on the main road local cars pass by that take you around the area.

I had a good time caring for all the dogs and the cat. The work consists mainly on taking the dogs out and spending time with them! I love animals so that was very special to me. The only thing is that the infrastructure needs to be improved. The room is very simple, there was no internet and no hot water, when I arrived my room was still dirty and during my stay we had problems with rats which made my stay be shorter.
