The English and Mathematics Club, organized by Hope Haven Childcare, serves about 25 children aged 2 to 16 in the backyard of a local house. This non-profit initiative aims to help underprivileged children from public schools enhance their academic performance. Through dedicated tutoring and engaging activities, the club strives to provide these young learners with the skills and confidence needed to excel.

Descrizione: Volunteers’ fee goes to the host families’ house to cover the expenses of the stay like, three meals per day breakfast, lunch and dinner, and other daily utilities. A part of this fund is used in assisting organization’s projects like raising awareness for vulnerable children. It’s recommended this fee to be paid upfront at the start of the project as it fosters budget accuracy and reinforcing the commitment for volunteers.

Welcome to our project here in Dar es Salaam! We are thrilled to have you join us at Hope Haven Childcare. Here’s a brief overview of how our program works:

You are required to volunteer for 5 hours daily from Monday to Friday at the daycare, as agreed upon through the platform. Additionally, you have the option to contribute 2 extra hours after regular classes to help underprivileged children from public schools improve their academic performance. We teach using both Swahili and English.

Your roles will include assisting in teaching at daycares and providing general childcare. We encourage you to also help with other tasks around the project to ensure everything runs smoothly and to support our mission in creating a nurturing and effective learning environment.

Morning: 09:00 am - 02:00 pm (Local daycare centers) Afternoon: 04:30 pm - 07:00 pm (After-class English club for teenagers)Join us in making a difference in the lives of these children by providing them with the tools they need to succeed!

Regole

Volunteers must wear attire that covers their knees and shoulders while teaching.

Volunteers encouraged to be respectful and as open minded as possible. Expect cultural clashes.
