As a Worldpacker volunteer, you'll become an integral part of our vibrant farming community.

We practice sustainable agriculture, focusing on organic methods to cultivate a variety of seasonal crops. You'll get hands-on experience in everything from planting and weeding to harvesting and learning about traditional Nepali farming techniques.

Dettagli del programma

Applicants should have the following;
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- Strong work ethic
- A fit and able body and mind (manual work is often repetitive and strenuous.)
- You must be able to collaborate at least 4 hours a day
- Work with a task-based approach (as opposed to a time-based system). This is farming!
- Farm Tasks: Managing the nursery, building compost, worm farms, weeding, planting, harvesting, digging earthworks, watering, spreading compost, repairing/creating infrastructure, basically, anything that we need to get done to provide our educational training and move our permaculture projects forward.
- All volunteers must contribute to work in the community garden. There will be fresh produce for you to pick and seeds/seedlings for you to plant to replace what was used.


Attività e turni

Our activities during your stay:
- Growing local fruits, vegetables and herbs
-learning about seeds
-learning how to prepare local food items
- making compost
- design the farm
- free walking trips/tours to nearby temple, rivers, villages and viewpoints
- have fun
- each day is different on the farm and activities/tasks are season dependent. Some working days will be longer/more strenuous than others. No two days are ever the same.

We tend to work in the morning to avoid the heat!

We also are licensed trekking guides if you are interested in going beyond our little village with very knowledgeable, experienced guides! We offer whole Nepal tours and treks depending on your availability and time.

Please be respectful of our local cultures. You will be joining a rural, traditional local family where culture is rich and rooted in our daily lives. How we live may be different from your country so please keep an open mind. We love to share our traditions and customs with you, if you are interested to learn more!
