L'Esperienza

Welcome here to you who are reading!:) We are Angela and Aurelio, a couple of dreamy land pirates of 45 years, which after Covid have decided to change the life investing in our land 5 hectares of plums trees. Job is easy, it consists in collect fruit by hand with wicker baskets from June until August. We are in Sicily, in Monreale Mountain, just 15 minutes from Palermo by bus. Moreover on Oct Novemb we collect olives making extra vergin oil.

Oh I don't even know how to put this experience into words! Angela and Aurelio were the best hosts I could've asked for. The work was so fun, learning to pick and package fruit and not too strenuous. They shared so much culture and local life, you truly become a family. There are so many fun events on and off the farm, you will get to learn so much about Sicilian life. I cannot recommend this place enough. Thank you Angela and Aurelio for everything, I will miss you both dearly!

This was only my second experience in world packers but honestly one of the best experiences of my life , Angela and aurelio are always making sure you are good fed hydrated , the work is not hard but is work you have to be willing to work, the work is also rewarding because your learning and helping them with their life they live of the fruits that we pick and it's honestly been life changing made me feel more grounded as a person an more connected to the world

First of all, thank you to Angela and Aurelio. They were wonderful hosts. They provided us a wonderful place to stay, it had everything we needed. Angela cooked for us almost everyday, and taught us how to make lots of meals as well. The work was not too hard. It was hot but it was also July, so a hot month. They always made sure we had lots of water and made sure we were well fed. I felt really lucky to participate in this volunteer and lucky to meet Angela and Aurelio. I will definitely be back one day ❤️ thank you again for everything! Lots of love!

Angela and Aurelio are some of the kindest and generous people I've ever met, I truly could not have wished for better hosts. They radiate happiness and peace, encouraging you to feel comfortable during the work and to have the best trip possible. They will give you so many tips, recommendations and maybe take you on day trips themselves too. The work is not very hard, but hot in the summer sun and you have to be prepared to get dirty. I highly recommend this experience to anyone wanting to explore local Sicilian life, food and experience. Thank you Angela and Aurelio, I won't forget you guys

Roma is a bubbly, curious, and fun young English lady.
We spent a month together, working in nature. Picking fruit, we exchanged life and travel experiences, trying to speak Italian for at least half an hour a day.
She's a quick learner.
She's responsible with her homework and work schedules, despite her back pain! (Don't forget Roma, your promise:
Take Care of Your Back.)
Versatile in her work duties and available.
Determined and courageous.

This was my first volunteering experience and it couldn't have been better than it was. Angela and Aurelio are wonderful people that I can truly say I love so much. Angela took the time to teach me about life, her experiences; I learnt how to meditate and how to live my life better. Aurelio is a lovely person who was always funny, willing to help, and very caring with us. At the farm I found more than a volunteering experienceI found a family and a home where I want to come back, because I already miss them so much. I wish I could tell more, but this space is not enough.

She is a young woman, determined, responsible, and positive! She's a fast learner; in a month, she moved up two levels in Italian! She gives her all at work, even with her inseparable computer.
