My stay with Intan was the best two weeks. She was kind and helpful, and all the students were so lovely! We were totally immersed in local culture, seeing the villages, and cooking with locals.

Hi! My name is João Ferreira and I'm from Portugal. I stayed in Pandan Indah with Mr Jumirim and his family, Mrs. Ita and the son Dapa and Icha and it was my best experience in Indonesia. I felt in home and immerse in the local culture. Everyone treat me so good and they always care about me. Whenever I needed help or some issue they were there to support. I was teaching English to the kids, some are a bit advanced, others it was just teach basic vocabulary. They are amazing. I was hard to say goodbye I hope and part of Pandan Indah is with me now. I will never forget them. Thank you 😌

My teaching English in Lombok was truly amazing. The kids were full of energy and curiosity, and every day felt meaningful. I learned a lot from them about patience, connection, and joy in the little things. The local team was kind and welcoming, and I felt at home from day one. Had the most amazing experience in Pandan Indah. His family made me feel so welcome from the minute I got there. I got to do so many activities as well as teaching the local kids. Jumirim took the time to show me all the best places in Lombok and his wife made the most amazing food every day that I will miss so much! The kids were an absolute pleasure to teach which made my job a lot easier. I will definitely be back again and would recommend for anyone wanting to visit Lombok. I left feeling like part of the family and village and look forward to coming back again soon.

Had an incredible a week with Mr Jumirim and his family in Lomok. We spent our days living with locals in their village, and teaching children basic English and games. The kids were always happy and excited for their lessons, and eager to learn from us. Locals were friendly and keen to share their culture with us. Mr Jumirim's wife made the most delicious food too! We were also lucky enough to the first volunteers to stay in his newly built room that has aircon and hot water! This was the most rewarding and heartwarming experience, couldn't recommend it more!!

My time at Mr Jumirim's English the organization was unforgettable. I felt extremely at home and got to know him and his family very well. They have just built a brand new room for volunteers that is super comfortable and exceeded all my expectations. The children I taught were extremely respectful - I had the best week. What Mr Jumirim is doing is extremely important work and I couldn't recognise this experience enough!

I had the best time with Miss Intan at the organization. I stayed with her at her house for 2 weeks and was welcomed into her family. I helped Miss Intan teach English 2-3 hours a day 4-5 days a week and the rest of the time I was free to explore Lombok. Miss Intan also gave me the opportunity to experience local Lombok life - attending a local wedding, eating local food and going to local restaurants and markets and introducing me to her friends and family. It was an amazing experience overall, and I would highly recommend it to anyone interested.

The project has two schools, and I'll talk about the one with Mr. Jumirim! From the beginning, I said I wanted to participate in both morning (adults) and afternoon (children) classes. I had complete freedom: Jumirim approved and encouraged everything that was beneficial to the students. Daily contact with the family was amazing to understand more about such a different culture. Jumirim also involved me in some very local activities. It wasn't an experience to get to know the island, but to learn about the local culture and positively impact the students' lives. already want to go back!

The organization works with 2 small schools in Lombok- so you can chose if you want to help in both of them or only one of them. The schools are very different in the way of teaching and the ages of the students- so choose what's best for you or explore both 🙏🏽 The schools really need you and the volunteering feels useful and valuable . I had a very nice time and I was in the middle of authentic local life 🙌🏽❤️🤍
