My time in the guest house was one of the greatest opportunities volunteering in the UK. Renee and Steve have made of this place a beautiful Home where you can feel safe, propose new ideas and be creative. They are so generous, funny and kind. They try to make You feel comfortable and they like to do different activities with the volunteers and their friends. The team was also amazing, everyone with such great vibes. The tasks were flexible and everyone helps to make everything work. I'm so glad I was able to leave a little piece of My art in the guest house, I hope to come back in the future 💫

Being my first experience as a volunteer, I don't think I could have found a better place. The environment is super safe, the hotel is gorgeous and Renée and Steve are the best hosts: respectful, attentive, fun and adorable people, as was their son Lochlan who used to visit us at the hotel. The tasks were carefully explained and the agreements for days off were always respected. The city is beautiful and I had the opportunity to see wonderful places and connect with nature. I highly recommend this place and this family to spend quality time with great people! I love guys! See you soon! 💕

I absolutely recommend volunteering at the guest house and I'm very grateful for Steve and Reene's hospitality. I really felt at home and I had a great time with the other volunteers. Breakfast is delicious, the volunteers' room is cosy and I really enjoyed whenever we had family dinners or events all together. Also, the working hours are respected and we have a lot of free time to tour Eastbourne and the surrounding area.

I have no words to express my gratitude in this experience. the guest house was a great choice for practising my speaking skills and improving my amateur skills (cooking and baking). In terms of social relationships, it was a safe place for an introverted to connect with the family, crew, guests and local people. I strongly recommend joining as a volunteer here because of the good vibes (after meeting them I decided to extend my time there), Also I've considered coming back if I have the chance. And last but not least, CK is the most bossy, manipulative and lovely cavapoo !!!

Really appreciated Steve and Renee's hospitality, they make their guests and volunteers feel comfortable and at ease. I really loved the volunteer dorm, it is cosy. You are treated like a guest, with weekly fresh towels and linen. The beach is the throw of a stone! The tasks were really simple, and despite being appointed to housekeeping, I was allowed to garden on the sunny days which I found to be so thoughtful. If you want an easy, routined, family-like stay, layered with a tranquil English-coastal-town-romanticising-your-life-and-have-English-breakfast-for-breakfast existence, sign up!

To say my experience was great would be an understatement! Volunteering at the guest house felt like a true home away from home. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed into a team that felt like family, sharing communal dinners, game nights, and beach outings together. The location is a huge bonus too—just a block from the beach, with the Seven Sisters hike nearby. The work and hours were respected, leaving plenty of time to explore and bond with fellow volunteers, making the experience even richer. A big thank you to everyone at the guest house—I fully recommend this place to anyone! ☀️

I have no words for the incredible experience I had with the Shellies, I truly appreciate from the bottom of my heart that I had the opportunity to be there and that they allowed me to extend it, I felt welcomed, supported, it's my second family, I'll miss them very much, CK is the doggy nicest you can meet, about the tasks they are simple, the schedule is flexible, you can ask as many times as you need to have your tasks clear and they give you the confidence to be proactive with ideas to improve the guest house, and Eastbourne has my heart, I love you guys, I wish you all the best ❤️‍🩹🥹

It has been a fantastic journey to join such a wonderful team. I feel incredibly lucky to have met so many lovely families in my first week there. During the invited family dinner times, we enjoyed sharing our travel experiences and exchanging cultural perspectives, which made our time together truly memorable. Steve and Renee are exceptional leaders in this family-run team, always guiding us with clear objectives and efficient task completion, along with valuable suggestions. It truly feels like a home away from home, and I look forward to participating in future scheduled meetings again!

I cannot say enough good things about my experience!! Steve & Renee created such a welcoming & fun environment, along with the other the guest house family. My month here went by way too quickly. The volunteer room was wonderful & there's even a bath tub!! Your tasks are explained very quickly and work hours are respected & they are super flexible if you want to request certain days off. There's also tasks outside of normal hotel things available to do if you so choose, for instance I helped with branding, web design & also got to paint a mural on the wall!! I can't wait to return for another stay!
