The guest house was my first volunteer experience and I couldn't have expect a better one! Nao san was so welcoming and nice, it felt like a big family with the other world packers and Nao san' wife and son. The nature around this place is beautiful and I was so glad I had the opportunity to do the guest house Kodo trail with one of the other world packers. The work is not tiring at all and you have plenty of time for yourself to go out and hike for the rest of the day. I would come back here for sure and I am really glad I made friends for life.

I booked to stay here for 1 month but loved it SO much and was lucky enough to extend to 2 months! Nao-san is the kindest person in the world and is so helpful, welcoming and accommodating. His wife and son stop by the guesthouse occasionally as well & are lovely. I was also blessed enough to be here at the same time as 3 other Worldpackers, and I can confidently say that I will leave with them as lifelong friends :) The work is very reasonable & Naosan makes sure that the agreed arrangement is stuck to. The location is perfect as a homebase for walking the KumanoKodo on your days off!

J-Hopper's was my first volunteer experience and my first time visiting Japan. I worked with Nao San and Yosuke San for three weeks and it felt's like home! I had a great time working with them and learning from them every day. I would definitely recommend to come here and explore this beautiful place with amazing people! Thank you so much to Nao San, his family and Yosuke San for this great experience, I will definitely come again if I can! Big hug from Chile 🇨🇱!!

Nao, his family and all the staff made us feel extremely welcome and took us to things you wouldn't usually get to experience as a tourist, the location was absolutely beautiful with heaps of hikes and beautiful scenery, the schedule was flexible and we got to use the bikes whenever we wanted which was great! I would highly recommend, especially if you love nature!

I had a great time working with Nao-San Yousuke-San, they are both very kind, welcoming and helpful, it was rural and beautiful the nature was amazing many places to hike and explore , there is small grocery shops near but for better groceries you have to take bus or walk about an 1hr which was still very nice, Onsen everyday which was my favorite thing and work was only 3 hrs a day the people are so nice and it's quite easy to talk to many hikers and travelers in the guest house. You can participate in karadabar with yousuke-San when ever he takes his lessons which was a joyful experience😁

I had an amazing time at the guest house. The place is surrounded by beautiful nature, so it's the perfect opportunity to relax and get more in touch with nature. Life there is stress-free and peaceful. There are several hiking trails close, including the guest house Kodo trails. If you enjoy hiking, this place is definitely for you. Moreover, you can enjoy Onsen every single day!! The staff working at the guest house is also really kind and always ready to help you with whatever you need.

If you love onsen and nature, come here! In the guest house, there are ample trails for hiking and sight seeing. the guest house Kodo has an influx of international travels, yet the guest house staff all speak Japanese and English! You'll have many chances to practice your Japanese. Naohiro san was a patient, flexible, and hospitable boss. We enjoyed a takoyaki (fried octopus balls) party as well as a nabe/yakitori (soup/grilled chicken) party during my 3 week stay. You have to cook A bit for yourself if you want to save money and eat 3x meals a day! Also, hike around 30 min for groceries / 15 min paid bus.

Honestly this was my first time doing volunteering and I loved it ! The job was easy, only 3 hours per day and the rest of the time you're free to do whatever you want, there's a lot of hiking trails so if you like hiking you're going to love the place ! Naohiro-san and all the staff members are extremely welcoming, and caring. They treat me like family and it was so hard to say goodbye. Thank you for being a part of my journey !
