Es mi primero voluntariado y no puedo estar más feliz, la gente acá es muy amable, los horarios se cumplen, la comida es DELICIOSA, hay muchos lugares cerca para visitar, kat es genial, amo sus mascotas. Me hubiese gustado quedarme por más tiempo💖

I stayed for more than 3 weeks at the hostel in Quito, and I had an amazing time ! Kat and Santiago are very caring and super nice, they make sure you feel good here and do everything they can for you to enjoy your stay. There are many other volunteers in the hostel from all around the world, which is great to meet new people and work in team ! Everynight we have dinner all together (with the volunteers ans guests) and have a great time. The hostel is clean, volunteers have their own bathroom, kitchen and dormitory, and we really feel part of the team. The hostel is also very well located !

Kat and Santi are caring and understanding hosts. During my arrival there was a problem with a misinterpretation from me, they adapted and made sure that we could stay anyways. The hostel has a lot of volunteers, which makes the place with a nice and warm atmosphere. Ended up being our small family. The workload is simple, fair and in accordance to what was described. We're given a schedule but their were flexible to changes. On days which local festivities were happening they encouraged us to participate. the hostel left me with a lot of good memories and friendships. Thank you.

J'ai vraiment apprécié mon séjour chez the hostel, le personnel et les volontaires étaient très accueillants et gentils. Je vous recommande cet endroit, même si je pense que plus d'organisation et d'explications ( concernant le petit-déjeuner, l'horaire de travail, les activités offertes) rendrait l'expérience meilleure. Si vous avez une base en espagnol ( car tout le personnel parle seulement espagnol), aimez les chiens et n'ayez pas peur de sortir de votre zone de confort, cet endroit est bien pour vous.

It was a good experience! I worked reception and it was easy to learn the ins and outs of. There is a very thourough work guide as well. Lots of time to explore and centrally located. Loved working with the volenteers. The hostel is constantly being improved and the volunteer kitchen was recently just improved! Super chill environment. Make sure to bring noise canceling headphones. Sometimes the party goes late into the night 😃

El hostel Hostal es bellísimo, parece más hotel y está en una zona súper céntrica con mucho por hacer entre teatros, museos, parques y montañas. El hostal estaba pasando por una transición compleja, sin embargo te rodeas de perros adorables y un staff que trabaja arduamente, las tareas son sencillas y es el hostal más organizado en el que he estado.

Mi experiencia en el hostel fue buena, el equipo es muy amable y está dispuesto a ayudarte en absolutamente todo ( desde aprender a preparar comida hasta mejorar dolores de estómago [gracias Dani y Rebe]). Asimismo, la anfitriona Kat es muy amable, flexible y comprensiva, siempre está dispuesta a contestar tus dudas y de manera muy rápida. Laura siempre dispuesta a apoyar en todo lo que necesites. Muy agradecida del equipo. Creo que sería importante que se mejorara la comunicación de Santiago tanto hacia los voluntarios como el personal.

De mi parte creo que la que debe aprender a escuchar y acatar eres tu. Este es un sitio de trabajo y las sugerencias son escuchadas y respetadas sin embargo es decision de los administradores implementar procesos, tu opinion sobre procesos pasa a otro plano en un sitio laboral. Si no tienes la tolerancia para escuchar y no estas de acuerdo con como se maneja el hostel te recomiendo que guardes tus ideas para cuando tengas tu propio establecimiento y lo quieras manejar como tu quieras.
Y por ultimo yo pensaria dos veces antes de bajar a insultar al dueño y administrador del hostel por algo que escuchaste de otra voluntaria que apenas iba a iniciar su primer dia y se porto como una total abusiva.

Este lugar me permitió conocer grandes personas, desde los trabajadores que destacan por su gran calidad a muchas voluntarias/os con buenas historias. La comida es muy destacable, Dani siempre se esfuerza por entregar una rica experiencia y la atención de Rebeca y Laura es precisa para hacer amable el lugar. Kat la anfitriona, es muy amable y receptiva. Lamentablemente se nota la falta de cohesión entre los dos anfitriones, situación que ojalá mejoren dado que el espacio realmente vale la pena. Santiago debe mejorar notablemente su comunicación y su trabajo en resolución de conflictos.

El ambiente de trabajo con los demas voluntarios y los trabajadores del hostel fue genial. En mi opinion los gerentes deberian de explicar un poquito mejor las tareas a desarrolar, pero entiendo que están empezando de nuevo y llevan muchas cosas en la cabeza. Tambien creo que podria mejorar un poco la organizacion en general y los baños y cocina de los voluntarios.El hotel está a 10 min andando del centro historico y tiene una terraza con unas vistas espectaculares.

As you're aware, one of the owners was hospitalized due to a medical emergency during your stay, and unfortunately, this stressful situation meant we weren't able to provide our usual training and support although we did our best to ensure we were always available by phone to provide support.

We appreciate your understanding and wish you and Francesca could have spoken up sooner about your discomfort so we could have done more to help while you were still here rather than leaving poor ratings after the fact. Best wishes for your future adventures.

Nuestra experiencia en pareja al the hostel fue muy buena, aunque consideramos que hay algunos aspectos mejorables. El equipo de voluntarios, así como los demás trabajadores del Hostal, son personas súper agradables con las que da gusto trabajar. Aún así, hemos echado en falta más participación por parte de los propietarios en el proceso de aprendizaje de las tareas a realizar, así como más organización en general. El Hostal es un edificio colonial muy bonito, aunque las instalaciones para los voluntarios podrían ser mejores, especialmente la ducha y la cocina.
