My experience at the guest house was very interesting and enriching. Elizabeth is a host who proudly shows us Irish culture, music, cuisine, history and traditions. It was a great learning experience about the region, about how a hotel works and its routine. Elizabeth is a business woman and full of stories and knowledge about the region and welcomed me with great attention.

My time at LH was altogether good, I learned a lot.Elizabeth is a very active person who has several businesses and was therefore always very busy and seemed kind of stressed all the time. Liz always assured us volunteers that this was her normal pace however, unfortunately, it still made us a bit streesed, too and sometimes uncomfortable. Liz is so busy that she was away for about half of my stay, which meant that we had to take care of more things than we expected. There were no free tours (as written on the website), but Liz surely had great local tips. Her home is gorgeous, just ad Ireland

Roza is easy going & made a good impact here. a little sad her review is largely negative ( personal note is more positive). I was absent for some of Oct/Nov, but life reverts to normal in 2025. Roza didnt say in her review the excellent accomm. food (noted in private) or the amount of extra time off to travel the cities of Ireland. Free tours of locality are from March to late Oct. Winter not suitable. She always
advised last minute re her private work schedule, not always helpful!

It was a good experience, I only stayed with Elizabeth for a few days, the house was lovely and the town is pretty, most of my experience was with her brother, Sean, and it was perfect, I'm really thankful for the time I stayed there, I was treated with respect and I really enjoyed it. Everyone was friendly with me there. And he has a lovely friendly and playful dog that was always helping me while I worked.

My stay at the guest house was complex but enriching. The guest house and garden are beautiful, created with great taste. Volunteers should know they stay in a separate chalet without a bathroom, which was cluttered with furniture and business items during my visit. Elizabeth plans to reorganize it for better accommodation. I recommend uploading chalet photos and detailing house rules in the WP publication to avoid surprises. As for Elizabeth, despite our initial differences and her direct personality, she's an interesting businesswoman who is open to honest/kind feedback and self-improvement 🌿

I had a lovely time at the guest house. The house is beautiful, has a huge garden and is surrounded by nature. The town, Monaghan, is about 3km away and can be reached on foot or by bike. It provides good bus connections to Dublin and Belfast. The host, Elizabeth, is very kind and caring and made sure I got to know the Irish culture. She is also an excellent cook and provides a delicious meal in the evening. My vegetarian diet was not an issue. The work will be distributed among the days as needed, thus there is no daily schedule/shifts. Great if you're looking for a quiet experience in nature!

The experience was really good, it was my first time as a volunteer and I felt very comfortable with the lodging and with the hostess. Elizabeth is fabulous, a very friendly, energetic woman, all the time she made sure that I visit the town and surroundings and that I get to know the culture and custums of Ireland. Tasks and schedules were respected as the publication says. The house is beautiful!!! The garden is amazing, beautiful place to live. It is 3km from the town, you can go by bike or on foot. Although it is quiet, the landscapes there are really from a movie!

The experience in the guest house was ok. It's a beautiful house in the countryside with beautiful landscapes. The work was a little hard and required having work experience with housekeeping and cleaning since the cleaning needed to be done really quickly and in a perfect way. The volunteer accommodation isn't inside the house, but that's good because you'll have privacy. I recommend this volunteer if you like to live in the countryside and if you have worked with cleaning and housekeeping. Otherwise, it could be very stressful.

I think Fernanda was not prepared or suitable for any of the tasks that came with the role here. All was basic common sense house keeping. Also her personal issues caused alot of stress here and the need for me to seek advice and guidance from the support team. Sadly I do not recommend Fernanda for any house keeping related volunteer positions.

I had a good time staying at the guest house. The house is very beautiful and unique, especially the garden at night. Elizabeth is a caring person who wants to share with volunteers the Irish culture. During my time there I had the opportunity to visit Belfast, and Dublin,explore Monaghan town, and attend regional music festivals. As for the work,it was in general easy to learn. I helped with gardening, cleaning and breakfast. The hours and schedule varied from week to week.
