My typical day is spent running around caring for my various animals. 7 donkeys, 30+ cats, a pony 3 dogs. I need help for a variety of tasks . Carrying water and hay for the donkeys cleaning up after, feeding and caring for cats . You must be physically fit which will make your time here much easier especially in the heat. Many different jobs and tasks always arise . 30 minutes walk to the nearest shops /beach. Max 4 volunteers at a time min 2

Can highly recommend volunteering at Donkeyworld on Hvar! Besides simple cleaning and construction tasks, you'll spend your time caring for the many curious cats, lovely dogs and of course the donkeys in the field. The work was definitely rewarding! You'll get to know Jana as a hardworking, caring woman and her dedication and wide knowledge about animals is inspiring. During these 3 weeks I met amazing people and while discovering the island by bikes and bus we experienced the Croatian culture. The farmhouse is beautiful and with the peaceful scenery of Dol you'll feel right at home.

My stay at Janas was great, and I would definetly recommend! Jana is a hard working woman with a true connection with her animals. If you're used to tasks such as cleaning, feeding, poo scooping and haybagfilling, this is just the work for you! Having bikes at your disposal gives you a great opportunity to explore Hvar, and is an easy way to get around. Hiking opportunities are also great in the area. Even though there is 35 cats, 4 dogs, 6 donkeys and a pony, you'll eventually get to know their personalities and moods very fast :) Feel free to message me if there is any more questions!

One of the heartwarming experiences of my life, I couldn't have asked for a better first Worldpackers experience! Jana pours her heart and soul into caring for the animals, and it's impossible not to be inspired by her dedication. The work is fulfilling and the accommodation was clean & cozy, I felt right at home! The island itself is gorgeous and I enjoyed exploring it in my free time. Go raibh míle maith agat 🫶🏻

Fue mi primer voluntariado, y la experiencia realmente estuvo increíble. Estuve 3 semanas con Jana y otras dos voluntarias, Jana es súper amable y simpática. Sin dudas volvería, voy a extrañar a todos los integrantes 🐈🫏🐶

My time at the shelter farm on Hvar was truly one of the best experiences of my life. I could not have had a better first Worldpackers experience. Jana is absolutely lovely & her passion & commitment to these animals is really inspiring! The work is extremely reasonable & you are left with a lot of time to explore the beautiful island of Hvar. Majority of the cats are very friendly & you will always have a cat to cuddle with. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves animals & wants to experience life in Croatia!
