I spent the end of the year over December and the start of January in the hostel and it was definitely a one of a kind experience! After backpacking for some time it was nice to have a place to call home for a couple months, the hostel is an amazing place to stay with places to climb, run, surf and hike all in your backyard.Over my time I made life long friends both with volunteers and guests and I'm happy to say it's always a place I can come back to visit.

Un lugar lleno de vibras, donde personas de todo el mundo llegan. Es muy facil poder conectar con gente y poder conocer de todas partes del mundo. La experiencia se hace por sobretodo especial cuando aprovechas los dias para surfear. Mareike es dedica a que el lugar sea ameno, la ubicación del hostal es muy bueno, el espacio fisico es ideal para crear una comunidad. La privacidad no existirá en este voluntariado pero si es algo que no te afecta, lo pasarás increible.

Desde el primer momento me sentí como en casa. El trato fue cercano y siempre con una sonrisa, pendientes de todo. La casa es preciosa y muy acogedora, y además está en un entorno increíble. Sin duda, un sitio al que me encantaría volver 😊

Spent five weeks here - was such a cool experience and met some lovely people. Would recommend to anybody wanting to explore the North of Spain. People were great, hostel had a super welcoming environment for volunteers + guests. Cheers 😊

I had a great time at Gijón the hostel. The host was super friendly, always understanding, flexible and easy to talk to. I immediately felt welcome as I entered and got along with everyone so well, other volunteers as well as guests. Even new friendships were formed as the Hostel is very social and there are loads of opportunities to meet others and enjoy activities. All in all I can highly recommend this experience and I'm excited to come back one day ! Thank you !! 🖤

Like most of the other reviews I had an amazing time in the hostel. If you someone who likes to socialize and be close to the water I would %1000 recommend this place. I had so much fun and made so many lasting memories! As for the work it is very straightforward and easy. Hopefully I'll come back in the future!!
