Dettagli del programma

Looking for 1 volunteer starting mid-February!
Join our family house/farm in Central rural Portugal! We're located among olive trees lands, in the calm and the nature, near a small village.
We are therapists of alternative medicine (shiatsu, herbalism). We try to be as much self-sufficient as possible in food and energy. We eat from our garden, and we do remedies from our medicinal herbs. We plant trees and support the biodiversity on our land as much as we can!

We are currently looking for help from 20th of April till October - 2 weeks minimum is required! But we encourage you to apply for 1 month :)
You will need to enjoy physical activity and like to work independently (but no worries, you won't be alone!). if you have already some experience in gardening, it is great! If you don't but you're still very eager to learn, that's OK too.
Here we have a deep respect for the nature, for life and for animals, so we're requesting our guest to align with these values. We cook vegetarian food (we can also adapt to vegans) so you'll have to be OK with that!
We're very happy to receive volunteers who are experienced with horses!

Attività e turni

We try to offer a variety of tasks in order to let our visitors learn as much as possible how to live on a farm, but of course, type of tasks all depends on the season and the current needs.
Work can be physical and is mostly outdoors (if it rains lightly, we may still work - bring your rain clothes!)
For the sun, bring a hat and long sleeves of light fabric.
Schedules can vary according to the season and the weather : in summer we start work earlier, we don't work in the afternoons, and we water the garden in the evening.

Regole

We expect our visitors to :
- help us in the kitchen for preparing meals and tidying afterwards
- keep the room and common space clean
- knock on the door when entering our private space
- keep away from drugs and heavy alcohol drinking
- strictly avoid smoking inside the house, and smoke only in the designated areas (there is a high risk of fire in Portugal!)
Shampoos, soaps and other cosmetics must be ecological as we have a phytodepuration system for our grey water (contact us if you don't have such products).
Thank you for your understanding ! :)
