The guest house is a small holiday zone, bit isolated, with limited buses (stop: Largo Parracho Branco). The ocean shore is clean, with a short wooden boardwalk and beautiful sunsets. The shared dorm has 10 beds and a bathroom opening from the room, sometimes used by others. Initially, all felt laid back, tasks were given kindly. Later, unpredictable schedules and random requests made planning personal time difficult- I tried to communicate but with little success. Clearer communication, fixed showers and structured guidelines would make the place friendlier and more comfortable for volunteers.

It was my first volunteer experience with Worldpackers and I'm glad it was at the the guest house. Although it's further away from the center of the guest house, the neighborhood is quiet and the beach is literally at the end of the street. It was two great weeks, with a few simple tasks during the day and interacting with guests from different countries. It's a perfect opportunity to practice Portuguese, English and Spanish, as well as make new friends and learn to surf during the summer.

Tuve una gran estadía en el hostel de Miguel. Él fue muy amable y siempre dispuesto a ayudar. Las tareas son muy sencillas y tenés mucho tiempo para relajarte, conocer la cultura local y explorar la zona. la casa es un pueblo costero muy tranquilo, ideal si buscás desconectarte un poco de la ciudad, disfrutar de la paz y por qué no surfear también 🏄‍♀️! Además, estar tan cerca del mar en un lugar tan acogedor fue una experiencia única. Gracias, Miguel, por abrirme las puertas de tu hermoso hostel! Espero volver pronto

Minha experiência aqui foi muito boa. A casa é espaçosa e confortável. Possui também piscina e jogos para entretenimento. O Miguel foi muito atencioso, respeitou os horários e até foi flexível quando mudei o dia de folga. Algo para se ter em mente: A cidade onde o Hostel está localizado é muito pequena, não há muita frequência de transporte público e não há muitas opções de entretenimento nas proximidades. É um bom lugar para simplesmente desconectar.

This was my first worldpackers experience and I had a really great experience! Miguel is really nice and relaxed, he is understanding and very calm. The place is very quiet, but they do organize some events in the city (when I was there there was a concert and a surf night event with dj and fireworks!). Very close to the guest house (super nice little city), but not many transportation (you basically need to take bolt everytime but it's only 10-12 euros to go to the guest house). The beach is stunning with amazing sunset, will miss this the most!

Si buscas un lugar tranquilo cerca del mar, la casa es para ti. Fue mi primera experiencia como voluntaria a través de WP, y me llevo muy buenos recuerdos, las instalaciones son muy cómodas y los huéspedes muy amables. Pude practicar mi portugués e inglés, las tareas son sencillas y fáciles de realizar, las cuales compartí con otras voluntarias con quienes desarrollamos una súper buena relación y coordinación. Si tuviera que realizar alguna recomendación, sería bueno tener más claridad de los check in y out, y días libres para organizar la rutina. Muchas gracias Miguel!

Fue mi primer voluntariado y la experiencia fue increíble. Miguel es súper atento, simpático y respetuoso con el tiempo y el trabajo. Las tareas son mayormente de limpieza y mantener el orden del Hostel. Son tareas fácil de aprender y además el anfitrión las enseña y participa cuando tiene el tiempo para que terminemos más rápido y salir a disfrutar del lugar que es hermoso frente a la playa . Recomiendo mucho esta experiencia, sirve para conectar con la naturaleza y la cultura local 100%. Gracias Miguel por la oportunidad y toda la Buena onda 🙌🏻

Miguel is a really chill person and the guest house is a very quiet town. I enjoyed spending time there, the tasks were ok but not clearly defined. He would expect us to be available most of the time in case someone needed to be checked in. The job also includes cleaning an apartment he runs in the guest house (30min away). In many opportunities we had to pack our things, without much notice, to move there because he had rented the whole house in the guest house. I didn't really enjoy this moving around, it wasn't part of what was arranged. Communication needs to be improved.
