Durante las dos semanas que estuvimos en el refugio hemos podido comprobar la increible labor que Jessica, Melani y el equipo de voluntarios realizan dia a dia para conseguir una mejor vida a todos esos perritos adorables. Los turnos de trabajo son geniales, siendo exigentes pero gratificantes. El tiempo que se pasa con los perros es increible y te permite conectar con ellos y darle todo el cariño y amor que se merecen. Las instalaciones del hotel donde nos hospedamos son de lo mejor, así como el ambiente que se respira con todos los voluntarios y con Jessica. Sin duda lo recomiendo al 100%.

Volunteering in the shelter was beyond my expectations. They really do an amazing job with the dogs and the comunity. Is a hard job, but it worths and time flies! I definetely want to go back some day and contribute more.

I had an amazing time here. You will have to clean a lot, but its totally worth it! The dogs are treated well and they give so much love, it was really hard to leave them. The hosts were friendly and welcoming, and there's always a lot of international travellers to work with. In the area there are lots of beautiful hikes you can do on your days off. I really recommend this experience if you love dogs.

This was a very nice experience. The dogs are treated well , the hours and free time were as agreed, and they allowed some flexibility when I had to change a shift. The work is dirty and quite physical , so this is something the volunteers have to be ready for, but if you like dogs it is totally worth it. Also they give you boots , gloves and a vest for work. The hotel where we stayed is nice and clean. There are some basic stuff to prepare meals, like pasta& rice, the rest you can purchase there. Laundry is 10 soles, but you buy treats for the dogs, so everyone wins:). The area is beautiful

I had a really positive experience and asked to stay an extra week as I was enjoying it so much. I became really connected to the dogs. They've all loving and have their own personalities which makes the tough work all worth the while. A lot of other travellers passing through so always a nice community to work and relax with. The hosts themselves were friendly and welcoming too. A great experience if you love dogs!

Minha primeira experiência fora do país e não poderia ter sido melhor! Foi incrível voluntariar no abrigo! Com certeza, a parte mais difícil é se despedir dos cachorros, pois eu irei sentir saudades de cada um deles... Todo o trabalho é dar amor, cuidado, passear e limpar o ambiente para essas fofuras. Os anfitriões e voluntários também são muito amáveis e há vários lugares para visitar pela região :)

Mi experiencia en el refugio fue increíble, te llenas de mucho amor al compartir tiempo con los perritos, sinceramente es una experiencia que recomiendo definitivamente vivirla. Jessica y su esposo son muy amables y muy abiertos a cualquier opinión, no tuve ningún problema con eso, al igual que el hotel, si optas por hacer este voluntariado, con certeza tendrás un buen lugar para que puedas quedarte. Estoy seguro que volveré algún día.

El refugio es un lugar muy especial para poner a prueba tu fuerza mental, tu paciencia y tu amor hacia los animales que más lo necesitan. El señor Kisha es un ser humano excepcional, la señora Jessica está para escucharte. Los invito a que vengan a conectar con lo más profundo de su humanidad.

The experience was great, tough but rewarding!! The job is hard, it is literally cleaning shit most of the time 😂💩 but the love the dogs give you back is incalculable!! Jessica and his husband are amazing hosts, they provide you with a comfortable place to stay, a working kitchen and can't forget the pizza night!! Big plus the view from the hotel, having breakfast looking at the Cordillera Blanca while the alpaca are roaming in the grass around you is for sure something I'll miss!! Overall really worth it and recommend!!

First days were a bit rough until you get the system. If they teach you properly it will be easy, otherwise you will waste valuable time that can be used to walk the dogs. The experience is hard. Dogs bark a lot, fight with each other and plenty of pop to clean. If you can deal with that it is a very rewarding experience. We had our own room and was quite comfortable to sleep. They don't give breakfast but some common food as rice, potatoes, tomatoes, onions..Laundry is 10 soles that goes for dog food. Great volunteer for fit, patience and not squeamish people! Area is really beautiful!!
