I stayed with Anoj and Upeksha for 5 nights and I feel like this was the perfect length for a stay here. At the home you can slow down, experience Sri Lankan rural life and contribute to the land on your own initiative. There isn't really a schedule for things (making field trips or working on the land, cooking, cleaning, etc) so make sure to let Anoj and Upeksha know what your interests and preferences are :-) Anoj knows a lot about local biodiversity and Upeksha does great work with the local communities!

Nous avons recu un acceuil chaleureux d'Upeksha et Anoj qui nous ont permis de passer une semaine agréable chez eux. Il faut savoir qu'ils accordent beaucoup d'importance à ce que l'on découvre la region et que l'on prenne du temps pour nous. Si vous voulez travailler, n'hésitez pas à leur demander.

Anoj et Upeksha nous ont accueillis dans leur maison pour une semaine complète. Cette expérience nous a permis de vivre au cœur d'un village de montagne sri lankais et de partager quelques moments de vie avec eux et les autres volontaires. Ils tiennent beaucoup à ce que nous découvrions la région et nous ont emmené pour une journée de visite très sympa. Concernant le volontariat en lui même, il n'y a pas vraiment de tâches définies mais si vous les sollicitez, ils pourront vous trouver des petites choses à faire. Ne vous attendez pas à "travailler", l'idée est de ralentir ;)

For our second week in Sri Lanka it was the perfect place! We were welcomed really warmly and felt comfortable from the begging till the end. We explored the really green and beautiful environment, we experienced the culture and had a really nice time with Upekscha and the others. We really would come again and will remember the time really good!

Anoj and Upeksha truly made us feel like part of their family. They welcomed us into their home and introduced us to traditional Sri Lankan food, customs, and everyday life. We're genuinely grateful for their kindness. I would highly recommend this project to anyone.

Unique and unrepeatable experience. Upeksha Anoj thank you very much for opening the doors of your home and making us feel comfortable every day. What can you expect from the program? Live a few days surrounded by mountains and nature where you can disconnect from the hustle and bustle.Learn more about the local culture share with a lovely family and get to know beautiful waterfalls and landscapes. We want to make a mention to the animals of the house a beautiful puppy named Rexy and two kittens Vindú and Fionna we will miss them and once again we thank every moment.

I can wholeheartedly recommend a visit to the home. It is the perfect place to get an authentic impression of Sri Lankan culture, try delicious local food, see beautiful places and relax in a rural setting to recharge your batteries. My highlight was the hosts, who are some of the most helpful and hospitable people I know. They always tried their best to make my stay as pleasant as possible. The lovely pets made the stay truly perfect. I am very grateful for the wonderful time I had!

The hosts are incredibly kind and knowledgeable. The experience is an opportunity to dive into the local culture and learn about Sri Lanka in a way you wouldn't from a paid tour or hotel stay. The hosts are working hard to develop their home which is beautiful and in the middle of Sri Lankan jungle. I could not recommend this experience enough if you enter with an open mind and willingness to learn.

I've had an incredible time staying at Anoj's place. Thank you so much to you and your family for welcoming me into your home. I feel fortunate to have been part of your daily life these past few days. Being surrounded by nature was a gift in itself. The leeches reminded me of home, back in Vietnam! And cockroaches, or one might say, the eternal tenants of the Earth! The village was a joy to explore. Everyone I met, whether on the street or during a ride on the local bus, greeted me with smiles. There's more to discover here than you might expect at first glance, only if you're open to it.

If you like nature and hiking, this is the place for you! I went to see some waterfalls, hiked some stages of the Pekoe trail and even did a day trip to Adams Peak! When I was there, there was no work to do (I suspect they don't really have work for the volunteers in general). We joined Upeksha on Sunday to help her teach English to local school children which was very cute. Otherwise you can just chill and relax here as well, it's a really quiet and peaceful place. Upeksha is such a lovely and caring woman, she really helped us with everything. Also the food they serve is extremly delicious.
