It was my first experience with worldpackers and it was amazing. I loved to work at the Center. Ellen, the owner, gave me the task of volunteer coordenator. We work 5 hours a day, 2 days off, very flexible. We could use the pool, practice yoga and everything else. Outside of my working hours i felt like a guest there.

My experience at the Center was great, I met amazing people, I really enjoyed the work I did, and outside of my hours I was able to practise yoga, relax, and be in nature. I worked as a cook, the work was challenging at times, sometimes going over my agreed hours - which were later substituted with extra days off. The area is remote, so it can be difficult to get to the other places, but depending on if someone has a car available it can be arranged. Overall I would recommend the Center to anyone who is willing to work hard, meet new people (and animals) and take a break from the city

Tuve el privilegio de colaborar durante dos meses, donde por mi experiencia estuve cocinando cocina vegana. Aunque no era mi especialidad, se me confió el liderazgo del área con total libertad creativa, lo que me permitió aprender, adaptarme e innovar cada día. La convivencia con el equipo fue maravillosa, llena de momentos inolvidables como nuestras sesiones de mojito yoga. el centro me recordó que con esfuerzo y voluntad se pueden lograr muchas cosas, y que nunca dejamos de aprender en la vida. Recomiendo esta experiencia al 100% por su humanidad, su apertura y la riqueza personal.

The experience at the Center was good. I learned a lot about the ins/outs of a the Center. There was a lot of space to grow as a Yoga teacher. The current team that was present was very comfortable, it gave a real sense of community. Helping each other and having a lot of joy while doing so. The owner is a sweet woman who is warm and flexible. There are plenty of pets you can cuddle :). The location is very beautiful. Maybe a bit difficult to reach with public transport but that also gives it an off grid experience. The food is tasty and mostly quite healthy. The cooks pepare it well.

Bella experiencia rodeado de naturaleza. El centro es muy bonito y el yoga shala tiene muy bonita energía. Siento que la comunicación podría mejorar. En general recomiendo esta experiencia a los yoga teachers que quieran mejorar sus habilidades.

O lugar do voluntariado é lindo porém é afastado de tudo, muito difícil acesso. O modo como o voluntariado está sendo feito é desorganizado. Não tive clareza das tarefas que iria fazer. Dificuldade de comunicação com a anfitriã. Muitos mosquitos no local. Comida oferecida não é suficiente para os voluntarios e sempre atrasada e em horários estranhos. Não recomendo esse local para voluntariar.

From the beginning, you lacked the proactive attitude and engagement we expect at Alaya. Volunteering is a shared exchange. Volunteers receive a 5 course brunch at 11:00, a snack at 15:00, and a freshly prepared dinner at 19:00, all made by our retreat chef. This is well above what most volunteer placements offer. Mosquito bites — a few are quite normal in a rural environment. As for our location, we are just 12 kms from Vilafranca del Penedès, with easy train and bus connections to Barcelona.

Con Ellen, la anfitriona nos comunicamos en toda mi estadia, eso ayudo a entendernos y que encontraramos el equilibrio entre sus expectativas y mis ritmos de adaptacion y aprendizaje. A futuras personas voluntarias tengan presente que si quieren salir a pasear precisan caminar 35minutos a Sant Marti Sarroca y luego un bus hasta VilaFranca del Penedes. En definitiva fue un desafio para mi el ingresar a un lugar con varios protocolos, soy alguien que respeta el lugar donde me reciben, se adapta y tambien se compromete con el cumplimiento de lo acordado.

Cal Pau Cruset is a farmhouse in the middle of a beautiful landscape surrounded by vines and fruit trees where the tranquility is fascinating. As a volunteer I was able to share my yoga classes in English and Spanish with guests arriving from different parts of the world, in addition to helping with daily tasks at the place. The accommodation for me was good and the food was really delicious. It was a pleasure to share with Ellen and everybody who work and live there. I really loved to spent time with Ginebra y Olly, Shiva, Guapo Isha, Vishnu y Laksmi,and all cats . Gracias a todos !!!

We always communicate very clearly that drugs are not allowed on our premises. It is posted on our profile and we tell all volunteers on the day of arrival.
