L'Esperienza

I built the hostel myself with help of friends and volunteers. there is always stuff to do - from oiling the hinges and fixing furniture to upcycling shipping pallets and designing spaces. You need to know how to use tools, and how to fix or build stuff. Or if you want to learn, expect me to give a long boring project that will make you bond with a specific tool or material. But you will make friends with that tool/material forever.

I was welcomed by the two volunteers upon arrival, and they were kind and accommodating. The tasks and days off were arranged thoughtfully, and the owner let me stay at other hostels he owned, including in Tel Aviv. However, my experience was marred by a senior volunteer, who had been there over a year and was responsible for training me. He was aggressive and unkind. While I was away, he broke into my locker and left it open. I returned to find my belongings exposed, and neither he nor the owner apologised, blaming it on my lock.

Excellent experience, best in Haifa. Love this place and the people. Tasks are simple and easy enough, the host and other volunteers are awesome. Location is perfect, dorm is spacious and comfortable; kitchens well equipped and rooftop is enjoyable. Felt very welcome and valued during my time at the hostel, I definitely recommend. Thank you for the opportunity, I look forward to next time 🤗

Haia Hostel combines tranquility with a vibrant sense of fun. They have daily pancake breakfast and vegetarian meal option and Omer's hospitality adds to the welcoming atmosphere. I had the pleasure of going above on social media, appreciated that they already have a plan in advance, this make easy the work for a volunteer. The complimentary tours were a great asset for content creation, and I'm grateful to Guilia for her openness to my expertise. With some recommendations in mind, I'm excited to see how the hostel and the other hostels partners continues to evolve in a near future.

It was a very good experience, the staff welcomed me in the best way from the first moment, the schedules and everything agreed upon were always fulfilled. I highly recommend it.
