Great jungle and deep nature experience at the farm! The place is really cool, easy but with all you need. You can really experience community living spending time and cooking togheter with fellow travelers, great spots to hang out and hike, fireplace, pizza night and other many activities to enjoy. Thomas the owner is doing a great job with many projects and always caring about giving you a great experience. Fully recomended if you want to stay in contact with nature, doing outside works and meet other international travelers!

My experience at the farm was amazing!!! I met so many people and Thomas is a very cool and relaxed person. It was so much fun to work in the middle of the jungle. On our free days we did so many jungle tours to see waterfalls or to meet native communities! If you want a real jungle experience and enjoy meeting people, I can highly recommend the project at the farm!

My time here was incredible! The place is deep in the jungle, so lots of bugs and mud (when it rains), so much wildlife, so many beautiful trees. If you re expecting a fancy place, with no bugs or dirt around, this is not for you. Thomas is a really interesting person who loves to chat and play card games. He is very calm and fair and does everything he can to make your time there, as pleasant as possible. The work is varied and interesting, but can be a bit hard, if you don't want hard work, he'll probably find something else for you to do. I loved it, specially when we had a big group there!

I had the best experience here. I was lucky enough to meet friendly volunteers and had a great time. The card games with Thomas every night were really fun. There are also many things to do here if you want. There are waterfalls and rivers that are especially good for swimming. Also, the most delicious mangoes in the world are grown here. Come and spend time with nature here.

We had an amazing time at the hacienda and felt welcomed by Thomas and the people staying. The nature is amazing and the work and working hours are fair. The work is also quite diverse and often interesting .Thomas showed us many natural spots on the weekends, where you can spend the free time. The facilities are perfectly fine, considering that the hacienda is in the jungle. Overall, we would recommend the hacienda for anybody looking to contribute to a growing community and a jungle getaway.

Staying at the Hacienda Matteo was an amazing adventure. The tasks were very diverse and interesting and after work there's multiple things to do. The place is beautiful and wild, with rivers, waterfalls and mango trees all around. I would definitely like to come back one day.

I loved my time at the farm:) It's in the middle of the jungle, everyday you have lots of free time to do activities like going to the river, hikes, visiting villages or playing cards with other volunteers. The work is sometimes hard but also fun and you can definitely learn a bunch of new skills. Thomas also puts in a lot of effort to make it a special experience for everyone and organises things like Pizza Nights and night jungle tours! Just don't get bit by a bullet ant if you can!😂 But I definitely would recommend this experience to anyone wanting to to just be in nature :) Thanks!

My stay by Thomas at the Hacienda was gorgeous. Everything was kept simple, of course, but it's the perfect place to get a bit of a jungle feeling :)

I greatly enjoyed my time at the farm and in the Amazon! I will caution it is not for everyone though. Thomas was kind and hospitable, especially providing as much food as we asked (vegetarian diet, sometimes dairy and maybe a bit of chicken). He showed us around the jungle on his property and a nearby waterfall and gave us recommendations when we went exploring around the area. The work was a bit harder than I and some other volunteers expected, but I liked learning about sustainable building and construction. If you are ready to live in the Amazon, you will enjoy your time here!

The work here is really diverse. John came for a 2 week period when we were doing more building, construction and farm work than usual. In the last 2 weeks we have done weaving with banana fibers, molding clay to make ceramics, building a metal forge to make knives that people can take with them as well as making coconut shell bowls to take home. John worked harder than most people which was appreciated. However, we encourage everyone to work at a pace with sufficient breaks to be comfortable.

This experience was overall good and I learned a lot! Our work schedule was respected and communicated well. However, sometimes the tasks and other expectations were not explained clearly enough which led to some minor miscommunications. The work was challenging at times but I learned useful skills. During some of the more difficult tasks, our safety was not prioritized enough. The nearby town was a cute and eventful town, however it is a bit farther than I expected, so we only got to visit twice within two weeks. If you are seeking a place to be in nature and learn skills, this is for you.

It's unfortunate that Grace and her friend Madeleine did not have as great a time as everyone else.
Past Worldpackers walk the 25 minutes to either of our 2 nearby native towns every single day, to play etc. If a 25 minute walk is enough to discourage you, then maybe it's not for you.
We take safety seriously here, with 0 safety medical visits.
The broad range of tasks and types of experiences we offer with minimal confusion is very fondly appreciated by most of our Worldpackers.
