Amazing experience. The host is very communicative and open to talk to ensure everybody is accommodate and comfortable. Hours are respected and can be switched upon conversation. The hostel is very cozy, with good amenities and facilities. I was there in low season but still had the chance to surf a little bit. The volunteers were an amazing team and made the whole experience even better. Breakfast was good and the host provided pizza once a week aside from other small "perks." I would recommend it to anyone that wants to chill, be close to the beach and city at the same time.

This is my first volunteering experience abroad, and it's been amazing! I've met so many great people- other volunteers, travelers, and locals. This hostel truly feels like a second home, and I'm so grateful for this experience. I honestly didn't know what to expect from my first volunteer experience, but I don't know if another place could top this one. I hope to return here in the future, because it really has been great! Would definitely recommend to anyone who's looking for a fun and welcoming atmosphere.

My experience with the hostel was a blast. I felt very welcomed by the host. He was very kind and willing to work with me if I had any questions. He was willing to be flexible with the work schedule. Everybody I worked with was amazing. The Hostel was also close enough to the city to walk and if you didn't want to do that there were bikes offered or you could take the bus since the bus station was less than a 5 min walk from the Hostel. The work was pretty reasonable though it was pretty light around the off season. I would definitely come back to work here again.

Mi primer voluntariado, nunca voy a olvidarlo. GSH fue el primer lugar que me aparecio y estaba segura que tenía que venir. Aunque trate de explicarlo se que no voy a poder, definitivamente para entenderlo hay que vivirlo. Me sentí siempre como en casa y las personas de mi equipo son simplemente geniales. Gracias Luca, Ivan, Justin, Kaina y Jacinda, le dieron color a mis días, risas y momentos que quedan guardados en mi corazón, ahora ustedes son parte de mis anécdotas y mi historia. Por último y no menos importante, gracias Ezequiel por haber estado atento a todo y hacerme sentir escuchada ♥️

These two months were more than incredible, more than unforgettable. This place will always have a special place in my heart. I got some true friends. Tried surfing - completely fell in love with it! Improved my spanish a lot! Learned so much about myself, others and life generally! And just felt so at home! Ezequiel is honestly the best manager you could wish for. He really puts his energy, attention, time and care to make you and the whole team feel as good and as comfortable as possible. Thank you GSH for being a home away from home! Until we see each other again! Muchas gracias por todo! ♡

La experiencia en GSH fue muy linda y enriquecedora, conseguí conectar con los voluntarios y disfrutar muchísimo las semanas con ellos sintiéndome como en casa 💖. A pesar de que tuve pequeñas diferencias con parte del staff todo fue conversado y aclarado con honestidad y respeto y el manager siempre estuvo atento a cualquier sugerencia y petición, ya sea personal o profesional.

Si te lo contara, no te lo creerías ✨ Respirando un ambiente tan sano es imposible no crecer y coleccionar millones de recuerdos inolvidables. Ya guardé en el disco duro de mi mente personas, tardes de surf con el pink sunset de Gijón, las pizzas de los martes, las sonrisas de los huéspedes, las conversaciones profundas que llegas a mantener con personas que parecen colegas de toda la vida. Y no quiero hacer mas spoilers 💙 Life is MUCH better at GSH !

My time at GSH has been an amazing experience, and I'm really happy that this was my first Worldpackers experience. While I was there, the management changed, so things were a bit different. Before that, the volunteer tasks were more organized, but right now they're still figuring things out. The hostel itself is easily one of the best I've stayed in when it comes to its vibe. It has a wonderfully social and laid-back atmosphere, making you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. A heartfelt thank you to all the volunteers and staff who made this experience so memorable for me! ❤️

El voluntariado en Gijón el hostel fue mi primera experiencia en worldpackers y no podría haber sido mejor! El hostel es precioso y tiene una vibra genial para conocer gente y organizar actividades. Respecto a horarios, turnos y condiciones, todo se cumplió a la perfección. Se nota que tienen mucha experiencia con worldpackers porque todo está muy bien organizado y lxs miembrxs del staff siempre se preocupan por cómo estás para que te lleves la mejor experiencia posible. Muchas gracias a Eze, Ro, Ivan, Javi y a todxs lxs voluntarixs. Fue hermoso conocerlxs y espero volver prontito 💙
