My experience was very special. The work was great and not difficult at all, which allowed me to enjoy the family atmosphere even more💖. Katrin, Johnny, and their daughters, Emily and Louisa, welcomed me with kindness and made me feel at home. The family moments, our conversations, and the songs they sang together filled me with warmth and joy❤️🥹. I truly appreciate their hospitality and the time we shared. I wish them all the best and send hug, Johnny and Katrin🫂, a special hug to Emily and Louisa 🫂

I had a wonderful time there :) Johnny and Kathie are perfect hosts, i felt at home from the very beginning 🌸. The work itself is relatively easy and the hours you work are really fair. From the guest house it is an easy 15 min walk to the city york. York is a beautiful city which offers so many activities to do and places to explore + lots of pubs which have great life music :) Lots of love to Emily and Luisa as well 🌻 I can highly recommend this opportunity! Thank you for this wonderful stay and the good vibes you're spreading. I really enjoyed my time ❤️

Had a fantastic time at the guest house the last few weeks. Johnny and Katy were very kind and respectful hosts and their two little girls were adorable! The cleaning work was easy with well explained standards and helping Johnny with renovations adds variety to a repetitive routine. York itself is beautiful and the city centre is only a 15-20 minute walk away. I can't recommend enough and I hope to be back one day :)

Had a wonderful time! The family were very friendly and easy to get to know. They were very happy to let us play with their two lovely kids and feel apart of the family. The work is relatively easy and quite fun.

I honestly have no words to express all the attention and affection I received during my days with them. They are an incredible family (special love for the girls 🫶🏻) that I will carry with me forever !! The work, the schedules and everything else that is part of the volunteering are amazing.. not to mention that the city of York is lovely, plenty of things to do, and you have several options for nearby cities too. I felt so good and at home that I ended up staying much longer than expected. I highly recommend the experience.. thank you so much Katrin and Johnny for everything !!!

The truth is that I leave here very happy to have collaborated. This volunteer experience has been incredible, where I not only learned many new things but also grew on a personal level. From the very first day, Jony and his wife were always attentive to me, making sure I was well, comfortable, and supported at all times. Their kindness and dedication made each day special and made me feel part of something bigger. I leave full of gratitude for this opportunity, for the lessons, the shared experiences, and above all, for the wonderful people I had the fortune to meet. Thank you so much

This experience wasn't what I expected. There's no paid staff, so volunteers do everything. The hosts have high expectations but provide the guest house training. The shifts are 11-3, but you often have to stay late to finish the laundry. You don't interact with the guests and there's only 2 other volunteers. The beds are very worn down and uncomfortable, and the dorm is cramped (it's not what's shown in the photos, those are the rooms you clean.) They provide groceries, but the kitchen is small and smells quite bad. York is lovely though and the hosts were understanding when I had to leave early.

My experience was ok, I didn't meet the hosts but they seem to be good people. The place is not like in the photos, it's actually very small and the bed is uncomfortable. About the meals, they give you 40 pounds per week to divide between the three volunteers (which in my opinion is not enough). The working hours are ok

We never met Sara as she arrived while we were on holiday. Normally we go ourselves to buy the food but as we were away we decided to leave money instead. I'm sorry if it was not enough, if you would have let us know then we could have increased it. It was also never mentioned that the bed was uncomfortable and if you would have let us know then I could have replaced it.
I'm sorry you didn't have a 5⭐ experience with us and if only you could have communicated better then these two issues could

Unfortunately we did not have a good experience with camila. She was was not able to do simple tasks no matter how much we tried to explain things to her, she seemed disinterested. The main problem was the complaints from the other volunteers that they did not want to share a room with her because her personal hygiene was very bad. We tried to help her but the situation did not improve so unfortunately we had to ask her to leave early to respect the other volunteers who shared a room with her.
