L'Esperienza

We are a small and nice hostel/b&b near the port of Milazzo, north-east of Sicily, in front of the beautiful Eolian Islands. We are situated on the highest floor of a building, near the very center of the city, 15 minutes from the nearest beach. Help will be requested in the morning, cleaning rooms and common areas, put new linens. The rest of the day you will be free of enjoying a large and beautiful beach, wonderful sunsets.

Milazzo is a beautiful costal little town where there are amazing views, great food and very nice people. I will definitively come back during the summertime, it is still nice during the winter. The tasks and responsibilities were mostly housekeeping and doing checks-in. Some days were more heavy than others, overall manageable. Marielisa is attentive to one's needs and wants, is of great assistance whenever needed. Marielisa is a sweetheart and funny, great to work with. I would definitively recommend this place to people who enjoy a more lowkey volunteering experience. :) <3

Marielisa and Enzo are caring and welcoming hosts, they don't live in the same building but are always available and will make sure you feel at home! The tasks are easy (cleaning, making beds, check-ins), the workload depends on the amount of guests, so some days will be easy-peasy and some quite busy. Learning how to properly make the beds will be so hard on the first day but you'll get used to it in no time, if I managed you can too! Milazzo is a small town, good if you want to chill at the beach, hike the volcanoes on the Eolie islands or enjoy gorgeous sights from the castle and peninsula.

Mi experiencia en el hostel fue muy linda, las tareas no son pesadas y Lisa es muy gentil para explicar cada una de ellas. Me sentí muy cómoda desde el primer momento, la ubicación está muy buena para ir a visitar las islas y como primer experiencia en hostel pude aprender mucho en el poco tiempo que estuve. Me hubiese quedado más tiempo, espero volver.

I stayed at the hostel with Marielisa and Enzo for three weeks, and it was truly a wonderful experience. They are warm, welcoming, and made me feel like part of the family from the very first day. The atmosphere is friendly and supportive, and I learned so much during my time there. The tasks were well organized and the exchange was very fair, leaving plenty of time to enjoy beautiful Milazzo and the surrounding areas. It was truly lovely to live this experience, and I feel grateful for the friendship and kindness I received.

I had the best experience I could ask for and would do it again in a heartbeat. Marielisa, Enzo and Tommy were amazing and made me feel so welcome. The duties are mainly cleaning in the morning and the afternoons are free to go to the beach or near-by towns. If you are around when guests arrive then you also do the check-ins - but all instructions are clear and the hostel is very organised. I met amazing people (guests and the other volunteers💕), practiced my Italian and was able to experience the Sicilian hospitality and culture at its finest. I would highly recommend 🫶
