Help us with the Maintenance of the Guesthouse in Faro!

This is my first workaway experience and I sure have had a lot of fun! It was off season so the work load was pretty light. I had lots of free time hanging out or making some day trip to cities nearby. It's a great opportunity to meet other travelers and have a drink together by the beach;) Nuno is very flexible and always lays out the schedule of the day so everything was clear. Arni is such a wonderful cook and "DJ" and I will sure miss you and the yummy food!

My experience in Faro was amazing, the local people and the town are so much fun and I would highly recommend to stay there. The work schedule was easily manageable with 4 hours of work per day and 2 days off per week leaving plenty of time to explore all that Faro has to offer.

My experience was quite good. 4 hours per day and 2 days off. Easy job, basically Reception and Housekeeping, you can not complain. Good atmosphere, nice people, incredible food. Thanks you all for this experience in Faro.

The owner has different guesthouse/hostels all around Faro (really nice and small city) and he has a lot of volunteers for those places. This is really cool because you can meet a lot of people all around the world! I stayed in “The Central” and it is really nice, i shared a room with a cool girl. The working hours are flexible and the owner is also nice. This experience was so good, i recommend it to everyone!!!

Awesome experience. the working hours were sometimes less than 4 and the work was easy and well explained. i met a lot of wonderful people all around the world and there were a lot of volunteers that always made me feel like home. even if your english is not perfect it's totally ok cause there is a mix of languages between all the volunteers. the place where i used to sleep was not the guest house but it was The Central, a quiet and nice guesthouse. the host super flexible and friendly. the town is small but it's near from albufeira and other towns with beautiful beaches.

The city and all of the guesthouses are beautiful. The work hours and turns are respected. The team is also amazing, they make the work funny and organized. The only problem we had was that while volunteering two members of the team got corona and the reaction of the host was not the best as at first they were asked to continue working without telling anybody, which for me, is irresponsible as we were cleaning rooms and making check-ins. At the end they were allowed to stay without working but the relationship with the host was tense since then.

The owner was very friendly and picked us up from the airport. But the problem was that the room they gave us was not in a good condition! the mattress was in bad shape on the floor, no pillows and the place very neglected in general and no windows to the outside. I think he should be more considerate of volunteers and offer a better option for sleeping (for couples). For that reason we decided to leave the place, he even offered us something better but only when we told him we were leaving, so why not offer a better option from the beginning if he can?

Trabajo: el anfitrión fue flexible con el horario que le pedimos, pero sólo vino 2 veces a ver como iba el trabajo que nos pidió. Pero eso ayudo que trabajáramos a nuestro rollo. Alojamiento: agradecer que pude compartir habitación privada con mi pareja en una cama de matrimonio. Lo malo, que ni la habitación ni el piso donde vivíamos tenía ventanas... hubo alguna fiesta que otra y fumaban todos los días. No tiene que ver con el anfitrión, pero creo que es de interés. Mi experiencia fue genial gracias al equipo de voluntarios y a Faro

El horario de trabajo era inmejorable, el anfitrión se mostró muy flexible y pudimos disfrutar todos los fines de semana para viajar. En cuanto al lugar, las habitaciones de los voluntarios dejan mucho que desear (sin ventanas, olor a tabaco, ruido y repletas de cosas); sin embargo, pude compartir habitación con mi pareja. Aunque el piso donde vivíamos (parte de abajo del guest house) era oscuro, la terraza del sitio (compartida con los clientes) es increíble. El team de voluntarios, sobre todo, hizo esta experiencia inolvidable.

For me it has been a really great experience: Nuno and the other volunteers were very collaborative and kind to me. I stayed in a shared room at the Central Guesthouse and it was good: the only thing that can be improved is the cleaning. But, besides that, I totally recommend this experience!
