Helping with the farm and teaching any agriculture skills the volunteer has or teaching our residents from material that we provide. We have a farm design started by a previous volunteer so the volunteer would help see that it is implemented and followed.

The project is an incredible program. The women are absolutely amazing and everyone is so nice. You really can choose what you do to help the project out, there is a lot of flexibility to allow you to work with what you're good at. If you want to teach classes mainly, classes will be provided to you. If you want to focus mostly on the permaculture, then that's available to you, too. There are so many projects you can dip you hands into from painting, to childcare or sewing to farming. The experience overall was incredible and I wouldn't have exchanged it for anything else!

Maya has am amazing energy. Very loving and fun. Easy going and so willing to help. The women loved having her and they reported learning so much from her. She makes the place come to life. It was great having her with us. Maya it is my hope that our paths meet again. Thank you too for helping with the Jijenge progect.

I had a great and a special time in AAH with the staff, volunteers, residents (the women) and their kids. I'm sure you're going to find something that you like and that you find interesting between the social work and the environmental programs. Talk with the staff when you think that they are given you more tasks that you can handle. They will understand you, but maybe they are not aware of the hours of work that imply the tasks they are giving you because of the amount of work that they already have. I assure you that you'll have an amazing experience in AAH. I want to come back some day!!

I loved my time at the project. Nyakio is a great host and the program is very organized, so I could settle to settle into my work well. I learned so much and was able to push myself to contribute in multiple areas. The women are absolutely wonderful, I miss them already! I also had plenty of time to explore the area on my days off with the other volunteers, which was super fun. Overall, this was an amazing experience.

This has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I was able to immerse myself in the safe house and carry out my tasks. The people here are lovely and great. You will have the absolute best time.

O projeto é um lugar apaixonante! O projeto é incrível, Nyakio é uma mulher que vai te inspirar, como todas as que estão na casa. Elas vão te trazer uma nova visão do que é ser mulher. Você terá a oportunidade de uma imersão no mundo feminino! O seu dia já começará reflexivo: pela manhã, após o café da manhã, uma frase é escolhida e lida para para se pensar sobre. Durante a tarde você terá várias atividades de diversos assuntos como cozinha, arte, habilidades... lá é assim: sempre aprendendo e dividindo! Espero poder voltar um dia. Foi inspirador!
