If you are looking for peace and quiet, this is the place for you. Praias das Maças is a cosy place. And Lucia, Rafael and his family made everything easy for me from the first moment! The tasks are simple and the atmosphere of the hostel is very good. My experience here has been unforgettable, and I know 100% that I will be back very soon!

Don't hesitate for a second to apply for this volunteer opportunity!!!! Lucia and Rafael are incredible people, the best hosts, you'll feel comfortable from the very first moment. You'll enjoy Sundays in their company and that of Domingo, their father. Plus, Lucía is an amazing cook and will teach you traditional Portuguese dishes. the hostel is a place with beautiful facilities, right in front of the beach and with an absolutely fascinating environment. It has a wonderful energy.

It's hard to find the right words to describe how valuable this experience was for me. Lúcia, Rafael, and their entire family and friends are incredibly warm and kind people who make you feel truly at home. The hostel and the whole town feel like a fairy tale. The work is easy and enjoyable - you simply take care of the hostel as if it were your own home. Saying goodbye was very hard, and I truly envy (in a good way;)) everyone who still has this experience ahead of them. I recommend it to every kind soul - you won't regret it:)

Everything was just amazing. From the moment i arrived until i left i felt welcome. Lúcia, Rafael and their father are just a beautiful family. Sintra will make you fall in love with the nature, with the people and with all your experience 😍🇵🇹✨️ in will come back!!!

My 4-week experience at the hostel was amazing! The location next to the beach is unbeatable, with everything you need nearby - bus stop, mini market, etc. The hosts were lovely, communication was smooth, and the work was easy and fun. Delicious lunch was provided daily, which was a great perk. Highly recommend! Thank you for everything Lucia and Raphael! Hope to see you again! ☺️

I have no words to describe my experience at the hostel! It was much more than just volunteering. Lucia is an amazing human, super kind and extroverted. We became good friends, and I felt part of her family. It was a true immersion in the Portuguese culture, I was included in all family lunches and gatherings, and was introduced to amazing people. I felt really comfortable and happy working there, Lucia and Rafael are the best, and the job is easy if you know how to clean up. Definitely recommend, and I'm planning to go back asap. It was my first experience as a volunteer and it couldn't have been better than it was with the hostel team. It's a small hostel runned by the two brothers Lúcia and Rafael. They are the loveliest people! The fact that I got to eat lunch with them, their family and close friends everyday made the experience a very Portuguese culture delight :) The duties weren't so hard, it's all cleaning and taking care of the hostel as your own. The schedules were respected at all times. I had a lot of time to explore the area and got to make great friends ❤️ I'll definitely return as a guest :)

Volunteering in the hostel one of my most beutiful experience I lived. lucia the warmest Host I have ever met ,she do the best for the volunteers to feel at home and I really felt that .Raf also very kind and welcoming. The beutiful beach Praia das macas , having a delicious portugeuse lunch in Caferijo , the deep Talks with lucia,meeting people from around the world and the good vibes. I am very thankful for all of that. I highly recommend.

An unforgettable experience, I got to know Portugal and its people in a unique and incredible way, I felt very comfortable, and with everyone's support! It was magical to meet people from all over the world in this experience! Lú is a wonderful person, with a giant heart, willing to help with whatever is needed, also to share a glass of wine and chat about life! Rafa, always understanding and kind, helping whenever he can! Praia das maças and its people are the best🫶🏻 Cafe Rijo, delicious food, I really enjoyed my lunches there! Happy to have met this beautiful family that is Merak🤍

Anfitriões incríveis, lugar lindo e tarefas simples. Lúcia e Rafael são pessoas maravilhosas (a família inteira, na verdade), que fazem com que você se sinta em casa. Respeitosos, carinhosos e humanos... recomendo fortemente a experiência! Agradeço imensamente por ter passado por aqui! 😘🤗♥️
