L'esperienza

During the period there will be different seasonal help that volunteers will be needed. Around Jan-Mar will be cleaning, cutting and pruning of tea bush. Apr-May the first flush (premium tea) harvesting season. Jun-Sep summer harvesting of tea. Oct-Dec will be autumn harvesting of tea. The months are approx as it depend on the weather. Help with our small vegetable garden and some farm animal will always be there.

What we offer as a unique opportunity is the experience of different hand made teas from Ilam, Nepal. As with that, black and green teas are always there to drink almost whenever you want. Additionally the meals will always be simple home made typical nepali and vegetarian. We make an effort to provide with our own garden produced fresh vegetables. We are always happy to answer your interest. As such we also hope you will be a respectful volunteer who also show interest in tea, our culture and our lifestyle during the volunteering period.


Attività e turni

The daily schedule varies depends on the season. But basically our dal bhat (Nepali meal) around 10:00-10:30 am before that usually after 8 am tea is available. Then the work is from around 11:30 am - 2:30 pm. Then it is free to do what you want. Then at evening the dal bhat is around 7:00 pm - 7:30 pm. Our nepali bedtime is around 9:00 pm-9:30pm.
Sunday and Thursday are day offs. There is a local market on Thursday which you can visit to see the local product. You can always explore the villages around at those time.
