By coming to Seraya you are able to dive deep in the Balinese culture far away from the tourism. You will be living in a peaceful environment with daily view of the ocean, a pool to relax and a sport field to exercise, a perfect place to watch the beautiful sunsets and create unforgettable memories. Through this authentic volunteering experience you have not only the unique opportunity to positively impact the childrend life in the village but also personally grow from the experience.

We are a welcoming family with three wonderful girls helping out around the house and the property. By living with a local family and the other volunteers to fully engage in the local community by experiencing their daily rituals and joining ceremonies. Furthermore, will enjoy the delicious Balinese meals for breakfast lunch and dinner. Our food is freshly cooked with a lot of love.

Great place to volunteer and connect with other volunteers. There are no very small children (ages range from about ten to twenty). You are responsible for preparing your own classes, which requires some prior planning in order to arrive with a basic structure. The hosts were extremely attentive at all times (they offer services such as motorbikes or transportation and you can pay by card, so there’s no need to carry cash). The place is quite remote, so transportation is necessary if you want to explore other areas

What an experience! The children are so sweet, curious, and eager to learn. Saying goodbye was hard. The three girls working there were so amazing as well. However, it's unclear how the high volunteer fees are used, because basic learning materials were lacking. The kids deserve better tools to improve their education. Also, more structure or a simple curriculum would help volunteers and benefit the children. This was a meaningful experience, and I hope this feedback helps improve the program further!

Obviously this experience is about the kids, but I couldn’t help but let the fact that the money the volunteers bring in does NOT get reinvested to the children. This money was used to demolish the children’s basketball court and instead build a pool that only Wayan and his family, as well as the volunteers can use. Volunteers spent their OWN money to purchase a very cheap volleyball net and volleyballs. So where does the >$350 USD go? It’s going towards Wayan’s personal life - buying land and building villas/hotel. None of this money is being reinvested into the program we volunteer for.

Dear all and gemma. We are kindly to explain all of you comment for our center. The program fee are going for meals, acccomodation and pick up transport. The rest of it we use to operate the center as pay the electricity, water and the supplies. We never buy a land or build the hotel or villas, we have idea with other program, we call stella child in canggu to build it, but not us built it, they will build it and our children have more opportunity to have trainnie or work there. Thank you
