Whithorn Lodge
We are very rural offering peace and quiet from the hustle and bustle of life. We have a smallholding with Alpacas, Sheep, Pigs, chickens, two cats and a dog. We have a slower pace of life and are close to the sea. There are many walks and small towns to explore either by bus or bicycle. We have been hosting for 7 years and enjoy the interaction of different cultures. We will need a certificate of good conduct as we have vulnerable children.
Travelers will be treated as part of the family, the accommodation is a large static caravan but toilet and washing is in the house. You will eat with the family and we will take you out with us when we are going to nearby villages. The caravan offers you some private space but you are always welcome in the house.

Chris and Suzie are wonderful hosts and I highly recommend coming here if you want to spend some time away from normal life stress. The tasks are never too challenging, the food is delicious, the evenings by the fire are very relaxing, and the nature is beautiful. They are very flexible with the free time and Chris even made me packed lunches whenever i took a day off. Thank you guys for this amazing experience :))

I had an incredibly amazing time at Whithorn Lodge! Suzie and Cris are two of the most kind and welcoming hosts I’ve ever had!
The working hours are well respected and we never work more than 3:30h a day.
They’re such good cooks and I had different food for every meal, including traditional Scottish and English food, always delicious and very abundant.
The caravan (volunteer room) is very cozy and gives you privacy when you want.
They even took me to explore towns nearby and helped me plan a big hike in the costal path (that I highly recommend).
I definitely recommend this experience!

My experiencie here was amazing. I felt like part of their family since Suzie and Chris were always making sure that I was doing well. The animals are also part of the family, because they make you feel at home, specially Buddy, the best dog on earth. The tasks are learning instances and interesting. I spent time cycling and visiting nearby places. I had a great time. Thank you Suzie and Chris, I wish you all the best.
