Vivo Escondido
We endeavour to create an inclusive and welcoming feel for all who walk through our door. We like to have fun and be able to express ourselves and we encourage all others to do so. We have been having volunteer staff for many years and most will stay longer than intended.
Collectively us owners travelled for many years and finally bore the fruit of many traveller dreams and now own a hostel in a small slice of paradise. We work very hard to be able to deliver the best experience for our guests based on all of our past travel lessons. We have high expectations of ourselves and of our staff but believe that when everything is running smoothly and the good times are rolling then we should share in those good times.

I had the most amazing time at Vivo! The hostel has a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Tommy and Lily are wonderful and made me feel welcomed! The hostel quickly became a home away from home. The shifts and work are arranged beforehand and the tasks are fairly easy and straightforward. I wished I could stay for longer here! Perfect location for going to the beautiful beaches nearby that are great for swimming. Thank you so much for having me and giving such a fun experience! 🤗❤️

Alice is the epitome of a perfect volunteer. Professional in undertaking the tasks and warm and welcoming to all that passed through. We would have her back in a heartbeat.

This was one of the best experiences, in part because of the people and in part because of the place. The other volunteers and Tommy the owner, soon felt like family. If your looking to both chill, spend time at the beach, as well as party, this place is perfect. Less tourists being away from la Punta and Zicatella, and if you venture through the town a little bit you can find a more authentic mexican feel with local food spots, cheap tiendas, and less foreigners. The work was easy and as expected, I would’ve stayed longer if I could. The people here were amazing and I was so sad to leave.

Cam is that wonderful mix of welcoming and effortlessly laid back. She is a creative that gave her all to make the place a little more colourful. We are all very pleased we accepted her!

Mi voluntariado en vivo Escondido fue muy bueno, Tommy es muy amable y me sentí bienvenida. Los horarios y las tareas son claras y se respetan, también Tommy me tuvo mucha paciencia explicando y fue flexible cuando necesite un cambio de horario. Estoy muy agradecida.

Tommy y Lily siempre fueron súper amables. Desde el principio te explican todo muy claro: los horarios, las tareas y cómo funciona el hostel. Los horarios son justos y fáciles de seguir.
La ubicación está increíble, súper cerca de la playa y de puestos locales como el mercado, tiendas y lugares para comer rico.
El ambiente es muy buena onda, todos tienen una energía increíble y se siente como en casa. Lo recomiendo mucho, sobre todo si es tu primera experiencia como voluntario. Aprendes, mejoras tu inglés y conoces gente de todas partes del mundo.

My time at vivo was so so lovely! I instantly felt so welcomed and comfortable and Tommy/lily were great hosts! The working tasks were not hard at all and training was great, working hours/days were made very clear and always respected! I highly recommend this beautiful hostel and I can’t wait to hopefully come back one day soon!
