🌿 Hi! We are Cristiano and Marie We live in Delfim Moreira, Minas Gerais, and work with small hotels in the beautiful Serra da Mantiqueira. We manage three different places where we rent rooms to guests.
Volunteers stay and work in two of them: 🏡 Oca Roça Our home, located in Rosário, in the countryside, 7 km from the city center, surrounded by mountains.
This is where volunteers stay most of the time.
Here we also have animals and a vegetable garden. 🏨 Oca Delfim Our hotel in the city center of Delfim Moreira.
📍 15 minutes by car from Oca Roça
📍 10 minutes on foot from the main supermarket
This is the second place where volunteers may stay during the exchange.
Delfim Moreira is a quiet, small, and safe town. 🌲 Oca Chalé A wooden house in the middle of the forest, 24 km from Delfim Moreira, which we visit only from time to time. Volunteers do not stay there. It is very common for volunteers to stay and work in both Oca Roça and Oca Delfim, which we see as a positive and enriching experience:
one place is more isolated and close to nature, the other is urban but calm and peaceful. We decide together where you will stay and for how long, depending on the current situation.
We are regularly present in both locations (Oca Roça and Oca Delfim). ⚠️ Independence & Trust Volunteers will often spend time without us being physically present.
Cristiano and I move frequently between Oca Roça, Oca Delfim, and Paraty (where we are developing a new project).
Marie also works online. For this reason, it is essential that volunteers are independent, reliable, and trustworthy, and comfortable managing their tasks responsibly and autonomously, without constant supervision. ❗ IMPORTANT – PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE APPLYING The main mission of our volunteers is to keep our spaces clean, organized, and always ready to welcome guests.
This is by far the most important part of the work. 🧹 Daily tasks mainly include: * Cleaning guest rooms and common areas * Keeping kitchens, bathrooms, and outdoor spaces clean and well organized * Laundry management: washing, drying, folding, and putting sheets, towels, and linens back in their correct storage places * Preparing clean bedding for guests * Gardening and basic outdoor maintenance * Watering the house plants * Watering the vegetable garden and taking care of weeds * Feeding and taking care of the animals (dogs, chickens, horses, etc.) ⏰ HOURS OF WORK EXPECTED * Volunteers are expected to contribute 4 to 5 hours of work per day * There are no fixed daily schedules, and some flexibility is possible in how the hours are organized * However, the full 4 to 5 hours must be completed each day * Volunteers are entitled to two days off per week 🚫 MAY NOT BE FOR YOU IF… If you are not comfortable with cleaning, making nice beds, and organizing spaces, this experience may not be the right match. ❤️ PLEASE REMEMBER We are a small, independent business in a non-touristic town, and running this project requires a lot of effort.

Somos Cristiano e Marie Vivemos em Delfim Moreira, Minas Gerais, e trabalhamos com pequenos hotéis na linda Serra da Mantiqueira. Gerenciamos três espaços diferentes onde alugamos quartos para hóspedes. Os voluntários ficam e trabalham em dois deles: 🏡 Oca Roça Nossa casa, localizada em Rosário, na zona rural, a 7 km do centro da cidade, cercada por montanhas. É onde os voluntários ficam na maior parte do tempo. Aqui também temos animais e uma horta. 🏨 Oca Delfim Nosso hotel no centro de Delfim Moreira. 📍 15 minutos de carro da Oca Roça 📍 10 minutos a pé do principal supermercado Este é o segundo local onde os voluntários podem ficar durante a troca. Delfim Moreira é uma cidade pequena, tranquila e segura. 🌲 Oca Chalé Uma casa de madeira no meio da floresta, a 24 km de Delfim Moreira, que visitamos apenas de vez em quando. Os voluntários não ficam neste local. É muito comum que os voluntários fiquem e trabalhem tanto na Oca Roça quanto na Oca Delfim, o que vemos como uma experiência positiva e enriquecedora: um espaço é mais isolado e em contato com a natureza, o outro é urbano, mas calmo e tranquilo. Decidimos juntos onde você ficará e por quanto tempo, dependendo da situação do momento. Estamos regularmente presentes nos dois locais (Oca Roça e Oca Delfim). ⚠️ Independência & Confiança Os voluntários passarão bastante tempo sem nossa presença física. Cristiano e eu nos deslocamos frequentemente entre Oca Roça, Oca Delfim e Paraty (onde estamos desenvolvendo um novo projeto). Marie também trabalha online. Por isso, é essencial que os voluntários sejam independentes, responsáveis e confiáveis, e que se sintam confortáveis em realizar suas tarefas com autonomia, sem supervisão constante. ❗ IMPORTANTE – LEIA COM ATENÇÃO ANTES DE SE CANDIDATAR A missão principal dos voluntários é manter nossos espaços limpos, organizados e sempre prontos para receber hóspedes. Esta é, de longe, a parte mais importante do trabalho. 🧹 As tarefas diárias incluem principalmente: Limpeza dos quartos de hóspedes e áreas comuns Manter cozinhas, banheiros e áreas externas limpos e bem organizados Gestão da lavanderia: lavar, secar, dobrar e guardar lençóis, toalhas e roupas de cama nos locais corretos Preparar camas limpas para os hóspedes Jardinagem e manutenção básica dos espaços externos Regar as plantas da casa Regar a horta e cuidar das ervas daninhas Alimentar e cuidar dos animais (cães, galinhas, cavalos, etc.) ⏰ HORAS DE TRABALHO Esperamos que os voluntários contribuam com 4 a 5 horas de trabalho por dia Não há horários fixos, e existe certa flexibilidade na organização do tempo No entanto, o total de 4 a 5 horas deve ser cumprido diariamente O mais importante para nós é que o trabalho seja feito com cuidado e constância, e não o horário exato Os voluntários têm direito a dois dias de folga por semana 🚫 PODE NÃO SER PARA VOCÊ SE… Se você não se sente confortável com limpeza, arrumar camas com cuidado e organizar espaços, esta experiência talvez não seja a ideal para você. ❤️ LEMBRE-SE Somos um pequeno negócio independente em uma cidade não turística, e manter esse projeto exige muito esforço diário. Esperamos receber voluntários que realmente queiram ajudar durante a estadia, que coloquem cuidado e dedicação nas horas de trabalho e que desejem contribuir para o crescimento e bem-estar da Oca. 🌄 Vida na Oca Se você procura um lugar tranquilo em meio à natureza, vai amar a Oca. As paisagens são lindas, com cachoeiras por perto e ótimos lugares para caminhar. Em determinadas épocas do ano, também é possível fazer trilhas e subir montanhas. É uma ótima oportunidade para conhecer a vida real do interior de Minas Gerais. Aqui é calmo e silencioso — perfeito para introspecção, contato com a natureza e os animais, leitura, tocar música e fazer fogueiras 🔥🎶
