Monkey Hut Cafe & Bed
Our place is well known for being a place where most travelers meet in Perhentian Island. We organize weekly activities to get everyone involved and socialize. where you can meet a lot of good and fun travelers.
We treat volunteers as part of our family, where we do everything together and no one will be excluded. We share our meal, we party together, we explore together.

Volunteering as a bartender at Monkey Hut on the beautiful Perhentian Islands was incredible! Amazing team, vibrant hostel vibe, and the chance to meet travelers from all over.

Volunteering with Arif at Monkey Hut was a truly wonderful experience. From the moment I arrived, I felt warmly welcomed and quickly grew to deeply love the staff, who became like a new family to me on this beautiful island. Perhentian is an amazing place, not only for its stunning sea and landscape but also for the local culture and the lives of the people who call it home. I already prolonge my stay there, and I am already looking forward to returning next season and continuing this incredible journey.

The location is amazing and waking up by the sea is wonderful. The facilities are basic, the mattress is quite comfortable. The vibe with other volunteers and staff really made my experience unforgettable. I developed skills as a bartender which I didn't have before and I'm very grateful for this. However, the shifts are quite long and I felt I was treated more like an employee than a volunteer. It's a great experience if you’re looking for a social atmosphere as Monkey Hut is one of the most popular places in the island.
