Farm Animal Rescue

Learn about animals that have been rescued from commercial food industry. We practice individual animal care and not herd health such as you would find in industry.

The farm is located in a village that has no public transport. The village is one mile away
(25 minute walk) and has a grocery store, cafes, post office and pub. Woolworths deliver groceries to the farm.

There is a swimming pool at the sanctuary and lots of attractive outdoor spots for reading or communing with the animals.

Volunteers share a two bedroom bungalow with other volunteers. Our volunteers are absolutely committed to the well-being of the sanctuary animals and whatever the animals need to be healthy and happy. Work is 3.5 days a week, a full day includes dawn and dusk. There are multiple extended breaks throughout the day between tasks. Training typically takes around two weeks through a managed process that lets you slowly become familiar with all of the different jobs. Work is dirty, tiring, and involves a lot of poo. Volunteers must be able to lift 25 kgs and must be cautiously confident around large animals. You will generally work in a team of two.
