Aldeia Caiçara

Welcome to Aldeia Caiçara. We are a small surf house located in the beautiful town of Sagres, Southern Portugal. We're three friends from Brazil who started this project six years ago. A brotherhood shaped by the ocean: this is what defines the beginning of Aldeia.

The beautiful landscapes and the constant swell brought us here. Aldeia was built based on the Brazilian Caiçara culture: a group of people born on the beach, living a simple and rustic collective life, in harmony with nature and the ocean

We want to bring people together, create memories, surfing with friends, share a delicious breakfast in the morning and a couple of beers at a breathtaking sunset (a Sagres speciality, we have to say). Here we hope people find their home away from home, surrounded by old and new friends who might become more like family.

Aldeia Caiçara’s Heads

Hello future volunteer, you are looking for a sunny summer getaway? We would love to welcome you to our work exchange experience with Team Aldeia. As your hosts, here's what we offer: - Accommodation in our well-equipped staff house, with 2 rooms, 2 bathrooms, a full kitchen, and a shared garden dorm (maximum 4 people). The staff house is located right next to the main supermarket, near restaurants and cafes, and only 10 minutes' walk from Aldeia Caiçara. Sagres is a very safe town, where you can walk around at any time. - In addition to accommodation, you'll enjoy free breakfast every workday at Aldeia (5 days a week), free access to our surf equipment, and rides to the beach (subject to availability). You can also relax in Aldeia's chill-out areas to make some friends and interact with our beautiful community, practice yoga, and use our coworking space. We need your help with tasks like reception, cleaning & housekeeping, laundry duties, and breakfast service. Shifts are well organized and structured by our management team, who is responsible for overseeing the training of new volunteers and supervising the shifts. They’ll provide you with task checklists and help you maintain a high standard of service without overloading anyone. Please get in touch for more detailed information about the work exchange.
