1770 Beachside Backpacker

We are a cosy Hostel where travellers can get to know our staff and other guests easily. Volunteers have a clean airconditioned (& heated) room with it's own bathroom. We have a swimming pool & are right on the beach.

The Manager and staff have created a friendly, relaxed environment to work in and enjoy spending free time surfing, hiking and exploring the beautiful, natural environment of Agnes Water and 1770. We like our volunteers to leave with happy memories and a positive experience - same for both them and our guests.

I had the most chill and beautiful time in Agnes. Got the beach right next to the accommodation, what could u want more?
Everyone was very nice and welcoming so the 3 weeks flew by way to fast :(

I had a great time staying here, the other volunteers and people who worked there were nice and the hostel is in an amazing location - so close to the beach. Greg is nice and has lots of recommendations of things to do in the area too, like go see the sunset in 1770.

La experiencia ha sido genial. En mi caso el trabajo era muy fácil y tomaba muy poco tiempo, una hora como máximo. Luego tenía el resto del día libre: se puede ir a la playa que está muy cerca, a tan sólo unos minutos andando por un camino muy bonito; se puede hacer surf con las tablas que dejan gratis; o se puede ir al pueblo andando. El hostel está en muy buenas condiciones, con la cocina bien equipada, la sala de estar es cómoda, la habitación está muy bien, con el baño limpio. El manager Greg explica bien el trabajo que hay que hacer. En resumen, un 10/10.

Aoi, worked for us for about two months cleaning the public areas of our in-house restaurant - sweeping & mopping the floors, cleaning the windows, cleaning the cool room and leaf blowing the terraces.

Aoi was punctual and reliable. She did her work thoroughly and without supervision. She was also well liked by our guests and fellow staff.

She left us to continue her travels.

I would recommend her to any other employers.

I had an amazing time volunteering at Beachside Backpackers! It's an absolutely beautiful location 200 meters from the beach and I only worked 1.5 hours a day 6 days a week as agreed. The only thing I would change is that sometimes the late-night check-ins are forgotten about and people arrive confused without reception open due to issues with planning ahead. Still, all the staff are really lovely people and I felt welcomed and respected and made friends with everyone working there as well as other volunteers, travellers, and people staying long-term. It was so hard to leave!

I had a great time here! The beach is about 200m away and they have some surfboards to try out. People are super nice and the work is pretty easy. It's a smaller town but absolutely beautiful by the water and out in nature.
