What a month it has been at the organization! We have loved every minute whether supporting the recycling project, social project or just supporting the daily running of the organization. The location is beautiful, only a 10 minute walk from the beach and town of Puerto Viejo. The team took us in like family and we wouldn't hesitate to go back!

Our first Worldpackers experience was very special and has set a very high standard for future volunteering. The location is stunning — immersed in rainforest yet close to the stunning beaches. The hosts and staff welcomed us like family. The work was meaningful and values-driven, and we'll carry those lessons with us on our travels. Muy tranquilo el voluntariado en la sede de Cahuita. Escuchas y ves animales distintos todos los días. Lo incómodo es convivir con mosquito, pero con mosquetero y buen repelente sobrevives. Está cerca el paradero para poder recorrer la zona. Agradecida de la estadía y de cada persona que conocí en este voluntariado !

Ótima experiência, recomendo muito pra quem gosta de voluntariado com propósito e conexão. Os membros são muito legais e a praia de cocles que fica 10 minutos de bicicleta é um paraíso. O hostel é agradável, além das comidas serem boas, todos os dias havia café da manhã e a janta pontualmente 18pm, então você tem que estar atento a este horário pra não perder. Há tarefas diárias de cuidados da casa, algumas com horários fora do horário de trabalho, o que dificultava a flexibilidade de ir e voltar do centro/praia. Então deve se estar comprometido e atento aos horários, que será fantástico :)

La experiencia con la organización y con toda la gente involucrada en el proyecto fue muy positiva y la consideramos una de las mejores experiencias de voluntariado que hemos realizado. Después de unos días nos sentimos como en casa. Beate y Fede están muy comprometidos con el proyecto y nos hacen sentir participantes importantes en las tareas que llevamos acabo. The group will stay in comfortable accommodations featuring 10 rooms, each equipped with two bunk beds and a private bathroom. There's a welcoming common area for shared meals, a fully equipped kitchen, a refreshing pool, and a dedicated yoga shala. Travelers will also have access to a community room stocked with games and books. On-site facilities include language lessons and a recycling workshop, providing a complete and engaging environment. The accommodation is designed for travelers to share with project employees or partners, fostering a strong sense of community.

Pasti
Meals at the project are a highlight, designed to be both delicious and nutritious. Breakfast is served buffet-style, offering a variety of options including toast, fresh fruits, butter, cream cheese, marmalade, hummus, granola, homemade yogurt, and oat milk. Some mornings feature pancakes or traditional pinto with scrambled eggs. Lunches include options like chicken rice, pasta salad, or spaghetti with tomato sauce. Dinners vary, with examples such as chili con carne with coleslaw, yucca pie with salad, or breaded fish/eggplant with rice and vegetables. The fantastic kitchen team prepares all meals, and they can accommodate vegan, vegetarian, and lactose-free dietary needs.
Orientamento all'arrivo
Travelers will be picked up at the Puerto Viejo Bus Station. Arrivals are usually between 10-11 am, but the pick-up time can be flexible. The person responsible for the pick-up will be easily identifiable by a "Planet Conservation" sign or shirt. Travelers will be taken directly from the pickup point to the project accommodation, with no layovers in other cities. Upon arrival, a 30-minute introduction will be provided, covering general information, house rules, and safety advice, followed by a house tour and room allocation.
