La Ruta del Español offers international volunteers and students the unique opportunity to support language education in Nicaragua through cultural exchange, participating in community projects in the local community.
📍 Location: León, Nicaragua – A vibrant colonial city full of culture and history, just 15 minutes from the beach.

Description: The $10 daily fee covers your basic accommodation (shared bed, access to bathrooms and kitchen), essential amenities (Wi-Fi, water, bedsheets ,cleaning of shared spaces, and coffee refill), and the volunteer experience itself.

Who we’re looking for:
Enthusiastic and committed volunteers who are fluent in English and have basic Spanish skills, and who want to contribute to the community while enjoying a rich cultural experience.

What I Offer – La Ruta del Español:
Accommodation in a volunteer shared room at Alianza Americana LANGUAGE SCHOOL in León.
Access to shared spaces: bathrooms, kitchen, volunteers’ dining room, and opportunities to practice your Spanish through guided communicative activities in the classrooms.
100% communicative Spanish practice sessions at Alianza Americana (conversation-based, not formal classroom instruction).
Opportunities to participate in cultural workshops and recreational activities organized by "Language and Culture Class – Alianza Americana."
Discounts on local tours and nearby experiences (museums, volcano tours, excursions).
A quiet school environment, ideal for resting, reading, or working on personal projects (home office).


Work-life balance:
Volunteer 4 hours per day (Spanish classes + volunteer projects + cultural activities).
Leaving ample time for exploring León, relaxing on the beach, or immersing yourself in local culture. (FEEL FREE TO EXPLORE LEÓN AND HAVE FUN!)

Activités et horaires

What you’ll do:
-Actively participate in Spanish classes and assist with our English classes, fostering cultural exchange through language.

Schedule & Activities
Our program combines language learning, volunteer service, and cultural immersion, creating a meaningful experience for both volunteers and the local community.

Mornings (08:00 am – 10:00 am):
You will support the students in our adult English class to improve their communication skills through cultural exchange using the language. You will assist in the English class, mainly through conversational practice.

Mornings (10:00 am – 12:00 pm):

10-11AM: Optional paid formal Spanish class for those who want to deepen their learning.
11-12PM: Free Spanish communicative practice (conversation and interaction, not formal classroom instruction).

Afternoons (02:00 pm – 04:00 pm):
Assist with the children’s English class at Alianza Americana, supporting the instructor and helping students with basic conversation and activities.


Evenings (04:00 pm – 06:00 pm & 06:00 pm – 08:00 pm):
Free time to have fun and explore León.


(Volunteers will have 1 FREE hour of daily Spanish communicative practice, focused on conversation and interaction with local Spanish speakers , not formal classroom instruction. Additional Spanish lessons are available for those who wish to deepen their learning.)
