I had a wonderful time here and got to really practice my Spanish which was one of my main goals of volunteering. I did not stay at the hostel for my stay here which is totally fine because Rick's hostel was an amazing stay and has amazing people that I got to meet there. I worked my shift from 7-12am with one day 7-11pm. I enjoyed spending time with the staff at Rick's hostel and the staff at Chicken bus bar. The Bar is separate from the hostel and is a about a 5 minute walk from both UrbanNest and Rick's hostel. Feel free to msg me with any questions:)

Volunteering at the hostel was a good experience! Tasks and hours were respected, and the team was always available to help me or answer my questions. The team and other volunteers made my experience unique :) Even though Erika was not physically in town, she was always available and great at communicating. I definitely recommend volunteering here if you'd like to immerse yourself in the local culture, have fun, connect with local and other travelers :)

The hostel and Santa Ana were so welcoming! Even only being there a few weeks, I felt part of a community and made friends with travellers and locals alike. The bar work is fun and it makes it so easy to chat and get to know people! Also super good to practice Spanish because lots of locals come to the bar.

Mi experiencia en el hostel es de las mejores que viví. Desde el primer día el equipo me abrió las puertas con confianza y cariño. Me sentí en casa y en familia. En poco tiempo, me encariñe y hoy considero a mis compañeros como mis amigos. Erika es una anfitriona muy noble y me ofreció toda la comodidad y atención, y me siento agradecida. Mención especial a Alexis, Isa y Gustavo, que me cuidaron e hicieron de mi estadía, hermandad.

Great place to volunteer! The hostel has been pretty quiet (low season), but that means that when the guests come together everyone gets to know everyone which has been super nice. The staff are lovely and Erika always tries to accommodate any requests I make about the hours. The hostel itself is muyy bonito, there is a cool roof terrace, fruit trees and hummingbirds in the garden, showers where you can choose the temperature, a well-equipped kitchen, laundry that volunteers can use, and regular events like game nights, cooking classes etc. Volunteers are also given $20 per week for groceries!

I volunteered at the hostel and really enjoyed my time there. The hostel was quiet and peaceful, which I appreciated. The work was fair, and the staff were kind, respectful, and supportive. The owner was also great—very down-to-earth and easy to talk to. Overall, it was a great experience and I'd definitely recommend it to other volunteers.

The hostel was an amazing experience, everyone was so welcoming since the first moment, owners and staff were lovely 🥰 the tasks and duties were clear and reasonable to a volunteer and you could always talk to Erika if you needed something. Love the hostel's facilities and the location is amazing. And there's an excellent social atmosphere, I had a really great experience here, totally recommend to volunteer at the hostel Thank you guys🙏

¡Holis! Mi experiencia con Erika y con todas las personas del hostal fue increíble. Los turnos se respetaron siempre y fueron súper flexibles. Recomiendo muchísimo este voluntariado porque, además de ayudarte con toda la información que necesitás, te enseñan un montón sobre la cultura local y el contexto actual. La verdad, de todas las experiencias que tuve haciendo voluntariados, esta fue de las mejores (si no la mejor).

I really enjoyed my time here at the hostel! I wish I could've stayed longer, I would recommend volunteering here for anyone! The tasks are easy and enjoyable and the whole team Erica, Emely, Isaac, Rosa, William, Alfredo are such kind and welcoming people. This is a perfect place to volunteer as there is plenty of time to do day trips out of Santa Ana before or after shifts. So you can still explore something new each day while volunteering!
