Help Rescued Animals while Volunteering in Pico Island in Portugal

I visited PicoDogs during the winter of December. While often cold and rainy on the island, it was beautiful, and the time spent with the animals was wonderful. You will find yourself getting attached to them very quickly! It was a lovely experience, and I would recommend it to anyone traveling solo to take a chance. It was my first experience on Worldpackers, and it left me wanting to stay more :) Thanks Dania,

Working at the shelter is such a rewarding experience! The animals are amazing, I miss them all so much already, and the people are incredible as well. Everyone is so welcoming and willing to help out, you feel right at home! The staff house is also a great place to live and having your own kitchen and living space to rest is great. The team is also really amazing with helping you experience activities on the island like whale watching.
