L'expérience

During their stay the volunteer will experience and learn how to manage a big household with three teenagers, and some animals. They will be requested to speak their original language (english, french or spanish) with us, specially with kids.

They will assist me in feeding the animals, basic cleaning of the exterior of the house, keeping an eye on the kids (homeworks etc) and occasionally prepare dinner for them should we not be at home.

Détails du programme

The volunteer is expected to work 4 to 5 days a week, for a few hours at a time—either in the morning or the afternoon. We will plan the schedule together each week, based on our needs and, when possible, theirs. This flexibility is very important to us.

One of their main responsibilities will be helping with the children: supporting them with homework and accompanying them to sports or other activities, depending on what we agree on together.

They will also help me keep the outdoor areas of the house tidy, always following my guidance. Another small but regular task is taking care of the hens: simply opening the coop and feeding them in the morning and evening, on the days they are staying with us.

Finally, if they wish, they are welcome to spend time with me and learn what life is like in a large country home.

Activités et horaires

Daily Tasks

Open and close the hen and goose enclosures in the morning and evening, and feed them in the evening, following the instructions I will provide. Change their water as needed.

Walk the dog—a Border Collie—for at least 10 minutes a day, weather permitting.
Help keep the outdoor areas of the house tidy on a daily basis.

Occasionally, I may ask for help with other small, simple tasks that contribute to the general daily care of the house.

Occasional Tasks (to be scheduled weekly based on needs)

Help the children with their homework or take them to their activities, such as basketball, drumming lessons, horseback riding, or gymnastics.

Occasionally (rarely more than once every two weeks), prepare dinner and put the kids to bed if both parents are away.

Règles

We don’t have many strict rules—just the basics: respect for the people, animals, and spaces in the house. This includes treating our home and belongings with care, being kind and responsible with the children and animals, and helping maintain a peaceful and collaborative atmosphere.

We’re happy to give you a few days off each week and want to make sure your experience here is enjoyable and balanced. If you need to go into town (Casale), we’re usually available to give you a ride, even daily if needed. The most important thing is that we plan these things in advance so everyone can stay organized.

A few practical guidelines:

÷ Please keep your personal spaces and shared areas tidy.
÷ Smoking is allowed only outside.
÷ We ask for open and honest communication, especially if something is unclear or if you need to adjust your schedule.
÷ If you’re unsure about something—just ask! We’re happy to help.
