🌿 Program Description – Art, Music & Videomaking Volunteer
At Sumaj Hoteles, we believe that art and creativity can elevate the spirit and help us connect deeply with our environment and community. We're looking for creative souls who are passionate about music, filmmaking, photography, painting, content creation, or storytelling to help us share the essence of our project with the world.

You’ll stay at one of our two locations:

Sumaj Casa Hotel, a calm urban refuge in Tarapoto, or Sumaj Lagoon Lodge, an eco-lodge deep in the Peruvian jungle, surrounded by nature.

🎯 What we expect from you:
Document your experience through videos, short reels, photos, or art pieces.

Contribute to the atmosphere with music sessions, mural work, or creative workshops.

Collaborate with our team to design stories or content that reflect our values: nature, simplicity, wellness, and authenticity.

Be flexible — you may help in other activities occasionally, depending on the needs.

Activités et horaires

🎬 Daily Activities may include:

- Filming daily life, nature, guest experiences & local tours
- Editing short videos for social media or internal use
- Taking photos of the hotel, nature, and cultural details
- Creating or updating murals, signs, or art decorations
- Hosting or recording acoustic music or soundscape sessions
- Supporting in content strategy or storytelling sessions

Shift Details:
⏰ 32 hours per week
- Usually 6 hours per day, 5 days a week
- Days off are usually between Monday and Thursday
- Schedule may vary depending on weather and team needs
- Flexibility is key — you might be asked to help in other areas when needed
- We aim for a peaceful and creative atmosphere. Tasks are meaningful, not rushed, and your contribution will leave a legacy in our project.

Règles

📜 Rules
- We are not a party hostel — respect, calm, and a peaceful vibe are essential.
- Volunteers are part of the hotel image even during free time — please maintain respectful behavior, tone of voice, and appropriate dress.
- Kitchen use is allowed in designated hours; you must bring your own supplies and keep everything clean.
- Laundry service is available, but volunteers must handle their own clothes. No hotel housekeeping included.
- No guests or outside visitors allowed in the hotels.
- Couples may share rooms but will be placed with others too. Cleanliness and order are mandatory.
- Days off are not on weekends; we work most on weekends. Days off usually fall between Monday–Thursday.
- Volunteers may be asked to move between our two hotels (Tarapoto or Sauce) depending on operational needs.
- Flexibility and good attitude are expected — tasks can vary depending on the moment.
- Your stay has purpose — if there are no pending tasks, new creative goals will be set.
