We had a lovely week on Phillip Island! John and Anja were friendly and helpful, welcoming us, setting us up, and introducing us to the community. They also lent us ebikes and drove us to see the penguins. We helped with gardening, moving firewood and mulch. Working outdoors was fun, and we had plenty of time to explore the island. The caravan was comfy, and it was nice to have our own space. A word of warning though- it does get cold on the island in winter, especially at night. The island is lovely and definitely worth a proper visit, and we're grateful to have had this opportunity!

John and Anja are a wonderful couple. From the very beginning, John was friendly, flexible, and always full of good energy. He made me feel comfortable in his home and was a great tour guide. He was always willing to take me wherever I needed, just like my new friend Josh, with whom I shared this volunteering experience. He also introduced me to some amazing people, like Judy, with whom I worked printing bags. The island is stunning, and John gives you plenty of time to explore. It's an experience I'll never forget, and I hope to see them again soon! 💜

This is a fantastic volunteering opportunity, John and Anja are both super lovely and welcoming to their home. Hours are flexible, as long as you do the work. Couldn't have asked for better hosts, they were kind and considerate, and even helped me with seeing the island in full! Overall had a blast here ❤️
