Détails du programme
In addition to our work in the garden and forest, we organize Forest Language Camps for local children. Recognizing the limited opportunities for children in the area to practice foreign languages and explore different cultural traditions, we've created a space where they can learn and improve their language skills while playing in the forest and caring for the animals.
We are particularly seeking native English speakers (sometimes also French and Spanish) to join us for these camps. Ideal candidates will already have experience in organising summer camps. They also should have an interest in or experience with wilderness pedagogy and permaculture, as they will play an active role in guiding the children through both language learning and outdoor activities. If you’re passionate about working with children in a natural setting, we would love to have you join us for our Forest Language Camps!
In addition to the Forest Language Camps, we also host monthly workshops for our "Forest Kids" (call them "Permaculture kids") on Saturdays, with a break during the summer holidays. We teach 8 to 14-year-old English, and together, we design our vegetable garden, sow and plant, and explore the forest through play and learning.
Beyond the children's activities, we also offer permaculture and food forest workshops on select weekends. If you're eager to deepen your knowledge of permaculture, we invite you to join us during these hands-on learning experiences!
Activités et horaires
We are a warm, welcoming family with a deep love for nature, and we thrive when surrounded by like-minded people who share our passion for permaculture and food forests. We’re looking for enthusiastic, dedicated individuals who embrace creativity, spirituality, and an easy-going, flexible way of life—people who see the beauty in everyday moments and, most of all, in the joyful smiles of children. If you face mental problems or are recovering from a burn-out, please do not apply for this position.
English Forest Camps are taking place during Easter (finished) and Autumn (from 11th of October until 26th of October 2025).
We love to get help in preparing and organizing our Forest Language Camps for local children. Our first English Language Camp took place in July 2020, and we’re excited to continue growing this initiative. For these camps, we are especially looking for native speakers of English at the moment.
To ensure a meaningful experience, we’re seeking individuals who have an interest in or experience with wilderness pedagogy and permaculture, as these elements are integral to the camp’s philosophy. As part of a team of 2-3 volunteers, I will coordinate the camp activities, and together, we will work intensively over a period of two to three weeks.
During the first week, we’ll get to know each other while working in the garden. In the second week, alongside garden work, we’ll prepare the content and materials needed for the language camps. In the final week, we’ll organize fun, interactive activities to help the ten local children practice the foreign language, all while immersing them in nature. It’s a rewarding and collaborative experience, but be prepared that it might be tiring!
Règles
If you're excited to learn more about us and our project, we’d love to hear your personal story and why you’re interested in staying with us. We value genuine connections, so please share your background and what inspires you to join our family. We typically do not consider standardized emails (those sent to multiple hosts) and prefer messages that reflect your unique motivation.
HABITS & LIFESTYLE:
- We welcome only non-smokers into our home. If you don’t already follow an ecologically conscious lifestyle and are not vegetarian, you may find it challenging to adapt to our way of living.
- We also ask that guests limit their use of mobile phones and avoid television or computer games during their stay. Phones are not allowed during work hours, so we can stay present and connected with the land and each other.
- We value a peaceful and grounded atmosphere. Moderate alcohol use is acceptable, but drug use is not permitted.
- Our home is a space for positive energy, healthy routines, and mindful living – and we truly appreciate those who share these values and contribute to this environment.
RULES:
- We ask all volunteers to respect the house rules and take part in proper recycling.
- Please take care of all tools and materials, and make sure to return tools to their place once the work is done.
- Meals are served at specific times (breakfast, lunch, and dinner). If you arrive outside of those hours, the kitchen will be closed.
- Volunteers are expected to cook dinner twice per week (outside of working hours) and always help with the dishes, keep the sink empty, and leave the kitchen clean - even during your days off.
- For safety and maintenance reasons, swings, trampoline, and zip-line are not for adult use and are off-limits to volunteers.
