As an volunteer in our dog hotel and physio department you might be asked to assist in various tasks like, helping with the daily taking care of the dogs (cleaning, feeding, dog walks, etc.) and the yard (mow the lawn, clean the terrain, water our flowers, assist in any construction work), cleaning of the hut or also help with the physiotherapy and hydrotherapy sessions (delivering equipment, assisting with exercises, cleaning of the facility).

Détails du programme

As an Volunteer at our facility, you will be immersed in the daily activities of dog care, from basic grooming to advanced training techniques and special physiotherapy sessions. This program is not only a chance to gain practical skills in animal care but also an opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of dogs and their owners. Whether you're looking to start a career in animal care or simply want to spend time with dogs in a beautiful setting, our internship offers valuable experience and unforgettable memories.
You will help beside us 5 days per week on our daily schedule, usually 9:00-12:00 and 17:30-19:30 depending on the workload. You will have 2 days free.
As we own a dog hotel (with a hydrotherapy pool, operating during summer) as well as a small animal physiotherapy department, you might be asked to assist in various tasks like, helping with the daily taking care of the dogs (cleaning, feeding, dog walks, etc.) and the yard (mow the lawn, clean the terrain, water our flowers), cleaning of the hut or also help with the physiotherapy and hydrotherapy sessions (delivering equipment, assisting with exercises, cleaning of the facility).
Previous experience with dogs is a prerequisite. You should also be physically fit, as helping outdoors in Greece can be quite strenuous.
The ability to work well in a team and also alone is necessary.
Minimum age is 20 years old.
Recommended stay is 4 weeks.

Activités et horaires

Free Time:
Our location next to the city of Thessaloniki is a good opportunity to explore the city as well as the beaches of Chalkidiki. Melissochori is a beautiful village where you can hike on your free time. About the city and the beaches of Chalkidiki there is plenty of information at tripadvisor.

Food:
We will provide breakfast and a meal on working days.
The menu consists of local food, a mixture of meat, fish and fresh vegetables and everyday you can try a different meal made in Greek style. Cooking is a shared activity so you will participate in our cooking experience!
Please inform us on any food allergies or dietary limitations.

Transportation:
We can pick you up from the International Railway Station of Thessaloniki and transfer you to the accommodation upon arrangement. Line 1X / 1N: Connects the airport (SKG) with Thessaloniki city center, the new railway station, and KTEL Makedonia (main bus terminal).
Transport to the facilities from the house and back will be our responsibility on fixed hours for our daily work schedule.
Public Transport Bus No84 can bring you from home to the city.

Règles

House rules:
You will be staying as our students on the ground floor of our rental home, so there are some rules that apply:
Quiet hours are 14:30-17:30 & 23:00-7:00. During the rest of the day we respect our neighbors and avoid making too much noise.
Cleaning of the ground floor will be your responsibility (room, kitchen, living room, bathroom), so please be neat and tidy. A kitchen, a fridge and a washing machine are also provided for your convenience. Don't throw litter or paper in the toilet. It clogs!!!
Kitchen and living room are common areas, so please don't sleep on the sofa.
1st and 2nd floors are for our family use, so please respect our private space.
Be kind and help each other out.
Take care of your personal hygiene and use deodorant.
Smoking is not allowed inside the house.
Please have in mind that if you are a heavy snorer we might ask you to leave the group.

Facility rules:
Punctuality is important. Our businesses run with appointments, so we want everyone to be ready on time.
After the first week with us, we expect you to have a good idea of how everything is running and be as much help for us as you can for the rest of our program. We require a minimum stay of 4 weeks.
Shifts and free days will be discussed and managed according to our workload.
