I couldn't have had a better first-time Worldpackers journey than at the school. Clara and her family welcomed me like one of their own, always making sure my wellbeing was cared for. Nice meals, gentle reminders to rest, and fragrant blankets as the weather grew colder made me feel at home. Teaching English to the kids was fulfilling, and knowing I could ignite even a small spark in their learning meant a lot. Volunteering felt lighter because I was eager to reciprocate the goodness I received. the school truly connects you to its community, where I witnessed both calm and celebrations.

My experience in Vietnam at the school has definitely been one of the most meaningful travels I've had so far. I was able to connect with locals and discover Vietnamese culture. My host family was lovely—I've never felt so welcomed anywhere. I'm truly grateful for everything they did for me. Regarding the volunteering work, I mostly prepared PPT at the beginning of my stay, which gave me more free time to travel around and discover Vietnam. Afterwards, I started giving English lessons, and I loved it. Teaching English to children and teenagers felt rewarding and fun

Myself and my boyfriend spent 6 weeks with Clara, Thang, and the school. From the get go we were treated as an extension of their family. The food was amazing and the facilities great. The children were brilliant. All eager to learn, incredibly intelligent and really fun to teach. It has been an honour to have even a small impact in their English journey. We each taught 13 classes a week, and planned lessons either side, I'd say 3 hours teaching and 2 hours planning for 5 days a week. It's hard to put into words how much we will miss Vân Ðiêm, the school, and Clara's family.

I am so sorry that I did not know that you both are people who love, explore about history, otherwise I would have told you that today, September 2nd, is a huge holiday celebrating the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's independence, so that you both can stay and witness our sacred and heroic moment during the 2 weeks of the celebration. Once again, thank Cam and Myles for making your time at Lucy Education Center magical. We will see you both in the future 😘

I had such a wonderful time at the school. I was treated as if I was part of the family and teaching the kids was so rewarding! They were a bit unruly at times, but they really seemed to want to learn, and I made a lot of good memories here. I feel like I got to grow as a person. Aside from getting the schedules late and a few communication issues, I have nothing but positive words for the school.

Clara and her family welcomed us warmly, making our experience in Vietnam truly special. It was very different from what we expected, but in the best way. The teaching itself was great; we prepared the lessons and taught engaged students. Clara also helped us plan unforgettable trips to Sapa, Ha Long Bay, and Ninh Binh on our days off. Overall, an unforgettable experience that gave us a unique perspective on Vietnam.

I had an absolutely incredible experience volunteering at the school EC! From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed by the warm and support of Clara and her family. The students and her family made every day meaningful, creating an environment where learning was just as rewarding for me as it was for the kids. Teaching was both fulfilling and inspiring. The students were eager to learn, and their enthusiasm made every lesson enjoyable! Beyond teaching, I had the chance to immerse myself in the local way of life, meet incredible people, and form friendships that I will surely cherish forever. :)))

From the start everyone was very welcoming to me. Children are mostly very invested in learning new things Don't be afraid to ask questions if you feel the need, a lot will be very blurry for you and it's normal to wonder. But if you are someone who is autonomous, who knows how to adapt very quickly want to discover the Vietnamese countryside : this volunteering is made for you! Thang made me feel welcome and welcomed me into her home with open arms! Her mum and whole family is so warm and friendly. I only spent 4 days there due to unforeseen circumstances where I felt disconnected and lonely but the experience would have truely been worthwhile for any other traveller! I am very lucky to have experienced what I did in that short time. However, I did unfortunately have to ride home at 9:30 at night by myself as a female solo traveller where I felt unsafe but didn't want to be rude by saying I felt unsafe doing so, I have learnt my lessons haha!
