The experience we had at the guest house was truly amazing. We learned so much every day, doing new things like painting, decorating, and making coffee. I want to thank Marie for being such a wonderful person and an incredible host, always making sure we had everything we needed and that we got to know Maizuru and its surroundings. It's an experience I would recommend a thousand times, and I really hope to come back soon.

This was our very first volunteer experience, and we honestly have no words to describe how happy, grateful, and fulfilled we feel after it. Marie is a wonderful woman who made us feel right at home and was always attentive to our needs. She helped us discover Maizuru, the guest house, and the surrounding areas in a deeper way. The tasks we worked on were meaningful and we managed to complete them in a short time. We truly hope to return someday — the guest house will forever stay in our hearts.

I loved staying at the guest house, falling asleep and waking up to the waves crashing on the beach. Marie was a great host, I got to take part in unique local cultural experiences. Due to the summer heat the work schedule was pretty flexible, I had a lot of fun doing a wide variety of jobs. Thank you Marie!

This experience was amazing. I learned so much about the local culture and language. It's a truly quiet and relaxing area that was a much welcomed break from the big cities. In addition Marie is an amazing host and takes care of her workers. She even took me to the doctor when I got sick. She is also very clear on tasks and what is expected of you and creates a sense of mutual respect where everything gets done and you have an authentic Japanese experience.
