I stayed at the host for a month & fell in love with Langkawi. met lots of lovely people while working & got to know Brian as well. the work is easy & the hours aren't demanding. the accommodation is basic & i was put on a top bunk for the whole month which is apparently the policy for volunteers, but no real complaints. overall i had an amazing time & would definitely recommend

I applied for a bartender position, but once I arrived, the host told me they already had someone for the bar. Instead, I helped with maintenance tasks (repairing furniture, fixing things, even building some pieces), which matched my skills and turned out to be enjoyable. Accommodation was a shared bunk in a room with six people, where the volunteer is assigned the top bed. Brian is friendly and easy to work with—sometimes a bit fast-paced, but always with good intentions. Overall, it was a positive experience and I'm happy I had the chance to contribute and learn here.
